Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)
The third season is the reason for the rating
5 June 2023
The first two seasons were missing the magic. The third season, I have missed them all so much. It's wonderful to see them. Older yes, but it's still them. Kind of feels like going home.

I do wish it didn't feel quite as "gritty". And I don't like Shaw and I'm wondering why he would ever make captain since he seems like a coward. I'm a little surprised at Seven as she never has seemed to be this type of person.

Jack Crusher is awesome. The bravery, the sass, all of it. It's so incredibly refreshing. I'm hoping they make a tv series just for him and whoever his crew will be. I just hope they get the cast right.

The Last of Us (2023– )
Unexpectedly good, and faithful to the game
16 January 2023
I'm very surprised honestly. The show has been very faithful to the game so far. Small changes but livable.

I love Pedro Pascal but I wasn't expecting his portrayal to be this exact. Bella Ramsey was the perfect choice for Ellie (little miss badass that she is).

Usually when I see a tv show is based on a video game, my immediate reaction is dread. It isn't very often they do a faithful representation and it's been a shame. I wasn't expecting this to be any different. Other creators could learn a thing or two from this representation.

Now I'm waiting to see what happens to the monsters in the movie and if it carries over.

Now, here's hoping it stays this way.

This is insulting
15 September 2022
It's a joke to the other movies. I don't know what they were thinking with doing something this incredibly cheesy. The costumes are ridiculous, the story is ridiculous, the sets and fx are ridiculous. They used to treat these comic book movies with respect. Thor is supposed to be inspiring and strong not behave like a child. But this... this is like a nasty april fools joke made by fans. The only reason I didn't give it lower stars is because these are good actors. Whoever wrote and directed this piece of garbage should be fired. This could have been so much better.

And why does Natalie Portman look so weird? Christian Bale did a great job as the bad guy. I'm surprised any of these great actors agreed to do this movie. They are so much better than this.

Loki (2021–2023)
So. Much. Fun.
11 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Now I just love Tom Hiddleston, there's something incredible charming about him, and a bit sexy. I just watched the first episode and I am LOVING it. It's been fascinating to see Loki come to self realization and admission of who he is. It had me smiling, laughing, and clapping throughout it. So good.

I'm loving this show
3 May 2021
And the fact that it's headed up by Laura Donnelly just makes it all the better. She was awesome in Outlander, now she's awesome in this.

What a fascinating idea for a show. Interesting powers too. I can't wait to see what happens next. Please renew this for another season.

They did it RIGHT. THIS is what Star Wars should be
19 December 2020
I honestly think that Favreau is my hero right now. From the casting, to the direction, the music, the sets, it's ALL correct. There's been so much love and caring put into this show, I've found myself to be on the edge of my seat every time I'm watching it.

Hope they have Sebastian Stan as Luke next season.

This was soooo good.

Thank you Favreau, you got it right.

Cursed (2020)
It's actually pretty good
18 July 2020
The people that are complaining are christians who don't like how their religion is being portrayed. The problem is, that like it or not, this behavior is part of history. It did happen. It's the Arthurian Legends that may not have happened, but christianity murdered alot of people, otherwise, what are the crusades?

The fx are pretty good, the retelling of the story is interesting, and the acting is not bad, but not utterly fabulous either. It's an ancient myth that's grown so many legs over the years, there is no possible way to ever know the truth.

I didn't even think about diversity, they are just actors and they didn't make a big deal about anything.

An insult to the She-Ra of my childhood.
31 December 2019
It's just terrible. I don't have any other words for it. It's pointless, childish, foolish, and the supposed heroes of the story are a bunch of bratty children. I don't understand how anyone could give this anything resembling a good review.

I haven't had this much fun since STTNG or even the first Star Wars
2 March 2019
I've missed this so much. And he's managed to create an amazing show. There are times it has me alternately laughing and sitting on the edge of my seat. It's been a long time since I couldn't wait for a new episode (with the except of GOT but its far too serious for this much fun). Not even remotely enough episodes in this show. Need more. This is the Star Trek we knew and loved with a much more human tone. This is Star Wars battles the likes of which you'd see in the movie theater. And the networks are missing all the good stuff that comes from this. They don't have original stuff anymore since they are all bent on reality television. But this one show... this show makes all the difference. .

Seth... well done. Really well done. Can't wait for the next one. And I bet you're having a damn good time.

I love this show
3 February 2019
It's pure awesome. I have so much missed the positivity of Star Trek. Only this is so much more human. It's just exactly how we would behave. It's fun, and touching, and sweet, while still fulfilling the exploration we all want. One of Seth's best ever. There has only been two tv shows that have made me look this forward to a new episode in the last 20 years. And this is one of them. I can't wait for the next one.

A very badly written fan fic
26 December 2017
Horrible, just horrible. The acting, the script, even the visuals were lacking in comparison with the last 6 (and I cannot believe I'm saying the prequels were better, they were terrible).

Disney has just utterly destroyed Star Wars. I can see why Mark Hamill is upset with this. I can't believe the others weren't. They humiliated the Skywalkers. And I do mean ALL of them.

Star Wars deserves better. How it EVER was able to get as high a rating as it has, I will never know.

Loved it
25 December 2017
Seriously? It's Shadowrun done very well. If you don't know what Shadowrun is, you really need to google it.

In fact, this movie is more fun than Shadowrun because Shadowrun is just dungeon crawls, this movie is more than that.

Great action, great visuals, good music. I have to admit, I never though I'd see Will Smith in a movie about orcs and elves of all things. It's rare these days that a movie keeps my attention unless it's a blockbuster. This one managed it.

I honestly can't wait until the sequel.

I see cult status in the future of this movie
24 November 2017
Really, I am at a loss as to how this movie didn't do better in the box office. The story is typical of it's type, and the visuals are utterly stunning. Mind you, the title is terrible.

I have to admit, the actor that plays Velerian reminds me so much of Keanu Reeves it's mind blowing. He sounds like him. He acts like him.

I was rather surprised at how well Rihanna did in the role. It was very natural. And she is still one of the most beautiful women in the world no matter what.

Claire Delavigne, while not a great actress, was quite passable in the role.

I really enjoyed this movie.

Horrible, awful, an embarrassment to Roddenbury
27 September 2017
This is NOT Star Trek. I'm at a loss as to how it has such a high rating. It feels like Chronicles of Riddick. I seriously feel like any moment the necromongers are going to pop out of the walls.

The Klingons are like the monsters under a childs bed. And why is their speech so mumbled?

I love Michele Yeoh, and they gave her this to work with? What happened to the writing? It's like kindergartners wrote it.

If they can't be bothered to make something of quality that shows they respect the source material, then they need to stop trying.

The Orville (2017–2022)
A great idea by Seth MacFarlane
24 September 2017
This show is a great deal of fun.

While Star Trek gives us a "best hope for humanity" feeling, this show is much more likely. Complete with swearing, dirty jokes, and actual arguments with real problems and modern references.

It is Star Trek but it's much more likely than such idealism.

That being said, I had no idea that McFarlane could actually act. There have been giggles to be had, and just as in his other shows, jaw dropping moments.

Something I always admired about Star Trek was it's willingness to address common issues that are happening now. And The Orville does that very very well, and in a much more direct kind of way.

Well done Seth, I can't wait for the next episode.

Doctor Who (2005–2022)
OK so the new companion and the debut
16 April 2017
That was awesome fun. We finally have a companion that WANTS to be there. Who thinks all of this is an incredibly good time, and a great deal of fun. Someone who finds a mystery something awesome and amazing and exciting.

Oh I've missed this. I don't think I've had this much fun in the whole time Capaldi has been the doctor.

We got rid of Clara and now we have Bill. And Bill is fantastic. Alonzy!

Update: We FINALLY have the real Dr Who back to us. This season finale was just incredible. Alternately crying, cheering, and breathless, this is what we have needed. Getting rid of Clara is the best thing they could have done.

Not sure why this has such high ratings
23 March 2017
Really, it all comes down to one thing... it's another version of The Body Snatchers or the television show V from the 80's (which was frankly done better except for the fx).

Honestly, I'm bored and there really isn't another way to put it.

At least a couple of the male leads are either cute or handsome.

At first it was interesting
2 February 2017
The housing are interesting, the designs are usually pretty.

There's one big problem though. Tarrek folds like a house of cards every time Christine moves her baby finger. In fact, I find Christine incredibly annoying and I'm at a loss as to how he can even stand her. She is so "high school ditz cheerleader" it's very aggravating. She also seems to have no concept of cost. The only time I can ever imagine her actually doing any work in this show is for the camera. I'm betting that is totally fake. I'm also betting that these two are going to get divorced at some point because he can't stand her attitude anymore.

I could care less about any drama that goes on, all these shows do that. The points of these shows is to get some idea of costs and designs.

Horrible.
1 February 2017
I wasn't expecting the greatest show ever or even something to match the original, but this... this is just so bad. The idea of putting women in this is a terrible one for one thing, but it isn't just that.

The acting is bad, the jokes are not funny. I had a hard time finding anything entertaining about this terrible movie.

And then there's the script. It's like they hired a 12 year old to write it. Why was chewing chips during the first ghost happening supposed to be funny? Or the behavior of the girls "boss" at the Institute they worked at? I can go on but you get the point.

One more point for "not everything needs to be remade".

Lucifer (2016–2021)
This show is so awesome
31 January 2017
It's so bizarre how people freak out over this show. Even the bible doesn't state that the devil is evil, he runs hell. He's still an angel. He punishes evil, he isn't evil himself. Even tempting isn't evil because a person can say no.

Besides, the actor brings soooo much charm to this role. I can't imagine anyone more perfect for this role. The whole reason to watch it is because the actor plays him so well.

And then there's the awesome kick butt of Maze. And the human doctor who is kind of cool with it all.

An all around really good show.

The Crown (2016–2023)
Interesting
22 November 2016
I have to say this show is not what I expected. After watching this, I'm surprised the royal family doesn't just look at everyone and quit. They're treated like dogs on a leash by parliament and have even less freedom than elected members of government do in other countries. I can't believe anyone, let alone a king, queen, prince, or princess, would ever allow anyone to dictate and control their lives this way. If any of this is true, I don't know how they can even stand to be anywhere near each other or how there hasn't been a recent war of the houses. For gods sakes, they're even told what to wear, how to do their hair, when they have to wake up, where they need to go every day, it's just horrible. And that doesn't even count who can they can or marry, where they can vacation, etc.

Quite frankly, if any of this is true, someone needs to slap Parliament on their behinds like their nasty behavior says they should be.

At this point, I feel rather sorry for the English royals.

I gave it a two for costumes and it's rocky horror. But this sucks. What were they thinking with the changes to the music and the unnecessary voice changes? The only actor they got right was riff raff. How can you possibly do worse than the original? Completely lack any sort of spark, put a woman in the role of Frank, place it in an old movie house, and have some of the worst acting I've ever seen.

Why would they bring in Adam lambert and not make him frank? And do tell me why Columbia isn't falling all over Eddie.

It's actually painful to watch. And I'm seriously not sure how much more I can stand.

I sooooooo love this movie
14 August 2016
Seriously it's awesome. I wish they didn't make you do ten lines on here because I can say it in less.

I wish that I could work here. It's relaxed it's fun, the boss is totally cool, it's modern and open minded. Really seems like perfect place to work.

I've always liked Anne Hathaway no matter what others say so I really think they chose the perfect person for this role.

What a totally relaxing and unusual movie for this time period. Everything needed like the old classic.

I will be watching again.

Horrible
16 July 2016
I gave it a 3 due to the music and the incredible voices.

Honestly, it doesn't even deserve that. I understand that it's supposed to take place in the late 1800's, but this is horrid. Even at the time the movie came out women's lib had already begun and I can't believe that any woman would have had the insane mindset of "If he hits you, it means he loves you" as a norm. It wasn't true even then.

Considering that this is Rogers and Hammerstein, I can't believe how bad it really is.

I love musicals, and the old musicals tended to be rather sexist but this took it to a new level.

I don't think the creators ever saw From Dusk Till Dawn
6 March 2016
It is nothing at all like the movies. And I do mean nothing. There are no similarities. It is much more like Supernatural than From Desk Till Dawn. But even then, there are limits because the actors aren't nearly as charming, attractive and magnetic as Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. The stories aren't nearly as interesting.

Basically... it's something to watch. Take up your time.

I'm at a complete loss as to how in the world this show has such high ratings.

It's as simple, and as sad, as that.

Next time, the creators might like to think up a new name.
