Airwolf: One Way Express (1984)
One of my favorite episodes
Leanne Hunley is a babe. Loved the character development of Santini learning to fly the Lady.
Sandcastles (1972)
Good movie overall
Pros: Available on Youtube. One of the young Jan Michael Vincent movies. That says it all. I always enjoyed his younger years in the movies. By the time Airwolf came around, the effects of booze and drugs on his acting and appearance were clearly evident.
Bonnie as the lonely romantic is just beautiful. I didn't realize she played John McClane's wife in Die Hard. I thought she was horrible in that movie. Another example of a great actress in her younger years has lost it. Her acting skills of portraying a young, lonely, love-sick romantic in this movie is stupendous.
I agree with the other person who said that this movie is underrated. Very true.
Cons: The suspense was killing me. haha! I had to fast forward past the slow parts. It has its dragging moments. Why did the restaurant owner have more detective skills than the two policemen? The restaurant owner investigated the crash site and discovered evidence of a 2nd car, while the two policemen are antagonizing Bonnie. That part was lame, I have to admit.
Amazing Grace (2006)
Nice and simple
With Christian works like Passion of Christ and Chronicles of Narnia, and biographical works like Finding Neverland and Aviator, this movie doesn't match at those working levels. Nor in terms of anti-slavery movies like Amistad or race relations/conflict like Remember The Titans does it match. I would have preferred Morgan Freeman or Denzel Washington to play the character of Oloudaqh Equiano. Morgan Freeman in Amistad did a superb job of portraying the emotional anguish of the ship bondage chains. Youssou N'Dour is dry and unemotional, rather unusual especially when displaying the slave branding on his chest and sitting next to the bondage chains without any emotional reflection or pain.
Despite the lack of high standards in performance and screenplay, the movie is comparable to Glory. Rather dry and sterile, but worthy attempt by Michael Apted. Overall, it's not a bomber, but neither is it exceptional or outstanding. It's a good movie.
