Dead in 5 Heartbeats (2013)
Unconformably Edgy!
Based upon an obscure graphic novel, Jeff Santo directed and produced it into an intellectually zen-like mantra of a movie that makes one realize that being a leader doesn't come with any more privileges, but only with more responsibilities. Watching bikers living close to home and connecting with their family members at diner time has a universal appeal with the apparent exception that in a biker's world problems seemingly become tragic at a flick of a switch with complications piling up longer than a line of relatives at a lottery winners house. This movie's story line purges your emotions with a catharsis of all the truisms of a biker's lifestyle of engaging in a never ending action packed day filled with danger at every turn that culminates into the movie's edgy ending. "Dead in 5 Heartbeats" is the best of the biker genre and hopefully the beginning of a successful succession of great independent films with the added benefit of exposing the new talent of little known bands, including the upbeat repertoire of the Nick Nicholson sound.
