Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Disappointing
Trash. An actor doubting his worth. A little girl that was so smart and already a feminist. A caricature of Bruce Lee. An actor trying to show us how one feels/acts while on acid. Just a myriad of cliches and a collection of unfunny puns. Worst Tarantino movie ever.
Greta (2018)
trash
I love both Isabelle Huppert and Chloë Grace Moretz, but they sucked big time here. Their acting was quite utterly beneath what both are capable of.
Louie: Pamela: Part 3 (2014)
So many things I hate and love in this episode
What happened with the Hungarian lady in the previous episodes was beautiful. There were wonderful moments there, where two people were giving each other all their love knowing for sure that it will come soon to an end, without any greediness and clinginess.
But with Pamela, it was just sad. Louie was depicted as a pathetic loser who is continuously trying to convince someone, who had explicitly stated several times that there is no chance in hell that something will happen between them, to like him. As much as I didn't like the way she degraded him, episode after episode, belittling him, making fun of his body, as if he is some disgusting peace of s**t, I didn't like also the way he acted almost like a predator and sometimes almost giving the impression that he was going to rape her. And we are supposed to consider this a happy ending? That was just sad.
Imagine the role reversed, some dude repeatedly making fun of a woman's body in her face, in front of her kids, and then they still end up together, thanks to her persistence. The media outcry would have been loud enough to get the show cancelled. But when it is a man being shamed, it is OK.
But may be it is all intentional. In beautiful episode earlier this season entitled "so did the fat lady", we were given a chillingly honest view of how dating looks like from a fat girl's perspective. Maybe all the episodes with Pamela is showing us how dating looks like for a fat guy. At least the girl has to rant about it and let off steam, while the guy seem to have to accept it and sort of bulldoze his way through the wall of resistance.
That being said, the acting was superb. I really hate Pamela now, which is a testement to how well she played her role.
The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018)
Even the boredom of a 11 hour flight didn't make me finish this
Probably the worst movie I have watched in the last couple of years. Annoying story and acting that goes nowhere from the beginning. After the torture of first 30 minutes, I decided it was better to stare at the back of the seat in front of me for the rest of my flight. I don't really get it why fine actors like Mila Kunis agree to participate in such a drivel!
Barney's Version (2010)
I love Paul Giamatti..but..
So unrealistic! Maybe looks are not as important for women as it is for us men, but come on! At least the guy has to make it up for it somehow. Money (if the woman is seeking that), power, fame, unique talent, sense of adventure, charisma, strong character, artistic nature, sense of humor,...and Barney has none of that! (he has some money, but the women he seems to attract are well off either, maybe not his first wife).
Sorry, I just can't ever get over that :-(
