Black Box (2014)
Superb Performances, Great Casting, Clever Series
12 May 2014
With mental health being a primary issue in the United States in 2014, "Black Box" offers a brand new television series that explores mental illness from a wide variety of vantage points.

Vanessa Redgrave's, as psychiatrist Dr. Hartramph, comes from the client-centered perspective while striving to treat her uncooperative client.

Kelly Reilly, as Dr. Black, the title character, struggles with Bi-Polar symptoms that seem unrelenting. The idea that a physician can have such an over-powering, yet medically manageable mental illness is unique to television series'.

Redgrave's Dr. Hartramph is so convincing in character while delivering clinically wise recommendations that are soundly grounded in real treatment for Manic Depression.

While entertaining, the series is also imparting various aspects of how people deal with mental illness. Bravo!
