Daughters on the frame
5 October 2022
Zhang Yimou, in general, is the director of the epical drammas. But all the while he manages to tell little stories with a certain cynicism and black humor. One second is one of these films that tells us a very cheerful story with touching tones of hearthwarming. The film is a kind of Chinese "Cinema Paradiso", which is full of love for cinema and for this seventh art. But Yimou not only speaks of love for cinema but also of a friendship and solidarity between a prisoner who has escaped from a concentration camp and a child that their friendship is in fact based on the roots about the interests of cinema. Despite all this good intention that the director wants to put forward, unfortunately the film is unable to end this brilliant idea with a decent final blow and leaves the spectator with a dry mouth disappointing and perplexed without giving the coup de grace that otherwise would have been a sensational ending. .

A must see film
5 October 2022
Sayat nova, for people who do not appreciate real cinema and run after easy tastes to spend less than an hour and a half, is a boring film. But for the one who appreciates those secrets of the seventh art it is a little jewel to be savored every moment. Each scene is a seventeenth-century painting to admire with a certain emotion. Music plays a leading role in this delightful work. Each musical note with each frame forms a narrative model to symbolize a part of the great poet's life. Parajanov proves to be a true filmmaker with this fantastic gem. Soviet authorities has banned this film for decays for its religious matter.

Unnessarily ruined by the last act
8 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
How a perfect beginning film could be destroy by the final act. This is one of the best films to rely to the cleaner workers. As an idea, the film works very well. Also respectable to rely on the problems of the working class as in a Ken Loach film. But the problem that ruins all of this is the final part that shatters all the coherence of the plot, despite the wonderful acting of Juliette Binoch. In the end this film, which has good intentions such as dedicating oneself to the situation of the workers or simply the description of a friendship and solidarity, leaves you with a dry mouth and an empty stomach.

The Worst film ever
10 July 2022
If I were an enemy or an opponent of Netflix, I would have made this film to push them away or keep them off the customers and to cancel their contract of this network. A terribly mediocre and bad film. Better to avoid it at all costs.

Casey Ryback in female mood
11 June 2022
It wasn't as bad as I expected. Okay, so many clichés continuously but at least it keeps the tension continuously in high level even if the whole plot rotates between four walls for the whole film duration, with a few exceptions of flashbacks. We, who have seen all those in a Netflix action film, I mean in a negative way, it was truly surprising to meet a film that was a little more successful.

The sound of real silence
10 May 2022
I don't understand some critics including those from magazines like Variety. Okay, this is not an arthouse movie, not even a mainstream one, but the story of a famous singer told in this way for better or for worse. In my opinion, a film that tells the story of the famous singer avoiding any exaggeration in a simple but correct way. This is what matters most of all. A movie to see.

Unfaitful couples
8 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Adrian Lyne returns to his favorite theme of infidelity, married couples who cheat on each other. Lyne's line, which started with Fatal attraction and continued with Unfaitful, is getting with this film, tougher and pushing the limits of logic. While the director's previous films have punished infidelity to some extent, this latest film is increasingly turning into a some like serial killer genre.

A turkish tribute to the Almodovar cinema
17 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Gokce Bahadir is a amazing actress deserves more ambitious productions such an European Arthouse film or Hollywood movie. The plot has melodramatic touches. Those touches reminiscent of typical Almodovarian cinematic elements, such as human lives and hopes lost in social turmoil, and a handful of ashes left by those lives burned like embers, accompanied by a music in the background that whips pain and finally ending with some hope in the final touch, form the essence of the film.

Same old cheap plot
16 April 2022
Another fiction that exploits cancer disease, stupidly and for no reason. I don't understand what these films with such a plot are for, that they serve nothing more than to hurt the feelings and grief of cancer patients and their relatives and family members. It should be a self-censorship that avoids producing these films with these cheap plots.

Pera time travel
11 March 2022
Don't mind the negative comments too much. . This is not a serious time travel movie but more a past - present time mixed fantasy kind one. Early 1900's istanbul scenes mixed with the late 20th century pop music is the one example. I am being a time travel movies fan, I have seen many American or western films of this kind but when a turkish film becomes to have the similar plot and the narrative style, the Turkish audience rejects it. The Turks would have appreciated this film if it had been of Western origin but they only criticizes this film because it belongs to their same country. A strange characteristic paradox. Hazal Kaya with her joyful childlike acting deserves more positive comments I think in a fantastic kind film and fits his role very well and both the photography and the staging and the cinematography are as fabulous as the costumes of the time. Also the interesting plot with a curious continuity. Don't wait for a masterpiece but there are many things to enjoy you inside.

Another same cancer disease cliché
10 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Film producers need to overhaul their policy on the plots that contain and narrate deadly diseases. They must never forget that the patients of such diseases who watch these films are insulted and desperate and it hurts them. I don't know why cancer always takes first place for a disease in a film, but what is such a big stupid thing?

One of the best love movies of all time. Very intense and romance. I don't get the negative reviews. Maybe is better for some audience to watch the film rather then to use their cellphone during the projection.

An example to a trash movie
18 March 2021
I don't remember if I gave only 1 point for a film in Imdb until this film but this one really deserves this judgement. The plot is very clichè, nothing new, boring and amateurish. Terrible acting. This is a fine example of a absymal movie. Avoid it if possible.

Lyrical Science fiction
30 December 2020
I had earlier impressed by the negative critics to reject to see the film. But thank goodness I saw it and I thought that this is a film full of poetry. Of course this movie is not for Star wars kind lovers. but much more philosophical, poetic and engaging. of course it has a very slow narrative way but not to bore you, on the contrary it makes you more curious about the continuity of the film.

The sins of the past
21 November 2020
The acting is excellent beginning from Mr. Bilginer and Miss. Nur Surer. But there are some screenplay errors such the house stolen keys detail. How she can get in the house if her keys were stolen out from her boy friend? These kind of errors ruins the total narrative. And we don't know any clue about Tarik's past that his pshycological deseas come from. Overall good thriller base narration specially in the beginning.
