Leo Reich: Literally Who Cares?! (2023)
Actually ROFL!
I laughed harder at this than any standup comedy show I've ever seen! It is poignant, smart, timely, and just amazingly, gloriously, unapologetically hilarious! Leo has an insightful, biting, appropriately cynical perspective on this crazy world. What a true talent - I love how he incorporates musical bits. I love how he can opine on our frightening reality in a way that is disarming and, surprisingly, comforting. I love that he weaves his various identities together to create a portrait of someone who is very "on trend" - young, gay, Jewish, British - but he even makes fun of that as he's doing it. A real breath of fresh air.
Fairfax (2021)
Don't understand the hate...
It's not just for young'ns... I'm 47 and love this show! It's hilarious...dumb, fun, smart humor. So many sharp references. I love the way it glamorizes and skewers social media "drop" culture at the same time. I think it's great social commentary with snarky pop culture one liners. Very enjoyable!
My Spy (2020)
Adorable, well-acted & funny!
Watched this with my 11 yo not expecting much more than a dumb "kids movie"... but I found it charming, legitimately funny, and well-done. Chloe Coleman is a superb actress with a bright future ahead of her. And I was honestly impressed with all of the lead characters. I think people of all ages (as long as they're ok with a bit of salty language) would enjoy this. Great family movie night choice!
The Social Dilemma (2020)
Really?
Don't we all already know all of this? There was honestly nothing new here. And the narrative part was dumb and distracting. If you somehow live in an alternate reality where you think social media exists not for profit but for some altruistic function, then by all means watch this. Otherwise, maybe save your time and watch something you don't already know all about.
Skin Wars (2014)
Our family's favorite show!
My daughter started watching this and I thought it would be fluff she could watch on her own. But pretty soon our whole family was hooked and we all watch together now. Love the personalities, love the remarkable paintings, love the artistry and drama of it all. So glad she discovered this gem!
