Okay, so I haven't watched ANY episode of this show, but I am a connoisseur of bad movies, and I know they are MST3K's specialty. So this is a list of movies they did for my own personal reference.
Movies Channel Awesome (Mainly former) Members Reviewed
1,321 titles |
Public
Once upon a time, there was a website known as Channel Awesome, home to many reviewers who spotlighted media of all kinds, both bad and good.
The kingdom of Awesome began to meet its demise as of April 2018, where many previous reviewers expressed disillusionment with the kingdom. The Channel struggles to hold on to what little life it has, but it seems it might be at its end.
This list was made in a simpler time when the kingdom wasn't in shambles-- a happier time where little of the behind-the-scenes corruption was evident. Regardless, the Channel's former years still hold a special place in the hearts of many fans, and members, both current and former, still retain their fanbases.
So, this is a list of movies that Awesome producers--- both former and current--- have spotlighted on their shows. There's a fair amount of overlap and crossovers that occur due to the reviewer's affiliation/friendship with each other, so it was easier just to cluster them all together.
I will try to provide YouTube links when possible (and when I'm not feeling lazy), so the shows can go on, even upon the Channel's demise. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Quality of movies may vary, and most of them are pretty bad (some being IMDB Bottom 100 bad, or so bad no one knows about them). There are definitely gems amongst them, however.
Think of any bad or mediocre movie. There's a good chance it's on this list. If not, well... I guess someone will get around to it eventually.
Some of these titles are NSFW, so browse with care.
I will try to date when the review was released. Any sequels to said movie and/or review will be listed after the first film, regardless of release date.
Movies reviewed informally or with clips only are not counted, or without clips/reenactments. This includes Doug Walker's Disneycember (& related videos), Matthew Buck's Projector, Stoned Gremlin Productions/Brad Jones's Midnight Screenings, and Brad Jones's DVD Hell (most of the time). Check other lists.
Reviewers listed: Matthew Buck AKA Film Brain, host of Bad Movie Beatdown. Primarily reviews action movies and romantic comedies. Lindsay Ellis AKA The Nostalgia Chick. I know she doesn't do reviews as the Nostalgia Chick persona anymore, but her old reviews are chronicled on here. Mike Jeavons, host of Shameful Sequels. Primarily reviews moves that are sequels (duh). Brad Jones AKA The Cinema Snob. (See my Midnight Screenings list for movies reviewed on his other show.). Primarily reviews exploitation movies, old movies, and bad pornographic films. Phelan Porteus, host of Phelous and the Movies. Primarily reviews horror films and crappy animated ripoffs. Allison Pregler AKA Obscurus Lupa, host of Movie Nights. Primarily reviews obscure (get it?) and/or cheesy movies from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Tony Goldmark AKA Some Jerk With a Camera. Mainly reviews things related to theme parks, but occasionally reviews films related to said film parks. Doug Walker AKA The Nostalgia Critic. Primarily reviews "nostalgic" material, but in latter years he reviews whatever bad movie he wants. Todd in the Shadows. Primarily reviews only music, but has occasionally featured music-related movies, and did a video series featuring movies from Madonna's career.
Reviewers listed but probably not in full (either because they make cameos/do a co-review or they don't normally review movies): Noah Antwiller AKA Spoony. I don't watch him. He shows up sometimes. Andrew Dickman (Phelous's title card artist), host of his own show I forgot the name of. I watch him sometimes, and occasionally he shows up in Phelous's reviews. Lewis Lovhaug AKA Linkara, host of Atop the Fourth Wall. Linkara doesn't review movies on his own, he reviews comic books (most of the time...). But he's cameo'd in enough videos to warrant a mention. Rap Critic. He reviews rap music. He doesn't review movies by himself, but he's done crossovers with other people, mostly if it's a movie featuring a rapper, but there are some exceptions. Paw, host of Music Movies. I used to watch him back in the day, but... I honestly haven't watched him since like 2013. I don't even know where to find his videos any more. Black Nerd. Only put him on here because he cameos sometimes. Eric Rodriguez AKA E-Rod AKA The Blockbuster Buster. I don't really watch him but I watch him sometimes. Welshy. I don't think I've ever watched any of his videos, but he shows up sometimes... Diamanda Hagan. I've never watched any of their videos. She shows up sometimes. The Angry Video Game Nerd, AKA James Rolfe. He's not a part of Channel Awesome, and neither is Mike Matei or anybody else associated with Cinemassacre.
