Nikamma (2022)
30yrs late
Thoroughly enjoyed the movie. An absolute blockbuster movie that would have raked in millions if made even in the 1990s. Rumours have it that this movie was written back in the 1980s for some unknown regional cinema but got shelved and then at a tea stall, the director was served bhel on this script! Bored while sipping the tea, the director read through the whole script and decided to make this blockbuster. Of course, the director had to make some changes to the original script to include mobile phones in the scenes here and there, which he did seamlessly and beautifully, in order to change it from a period film to a coming of age movie.
ThiruvinKural (2023)
Thriller fit for a flop even in 90s
Looks like the music director Sam got samma money for this movie and thus the over the top music! Most annoying part of the movie was its noisy BGM. The director himself seemed directionless, bringing in lot of plots into the story just so fight scenes could be incorporated. The protagonist just magically appears everywhere to beat up the bad guys! Tea stall, roadside, in the rain, in the fields, he just appears and starts beating 😂 And, the only reason I could think of making the protagonist speech impaired is because the actor either had a bad voice or poor dialogue delivery skills. Ow wait! Or the dialogue writer couldn't think of clever lines for the main character😁. This movie should not have seen the light of the day at all! I dare say, even some 20yrs ago, it would not have done any business at the cinemas. Dear director, here is a tip - try copying a good movie from another language or any old Tamil movie and remake it with new actors. It might work!
The only thrilling mystery here is, why Netflix has this movie in its platform?!!🤔

Any C grade Indian director could have made a lot better movie. Hell, even Insta have better stories. Only the locales were a consolation. The non-existent story was predictable and even I, a nobody, can think of many ways to have made it better.
