Scrooge (1970)
I love this version of "A Christmas Carol"!
I thought it was very uplifting, since it's like a Broadway musical. Kinda reminds you of "Oliver". The songs are great, with lyrics like "I hate life, life hates me." I think it was one of Albert Finney's best films in his career! I am trying to find this movie online, to legally download. I know they don't have that many legal movie downloads right now, but i'm sure in about a year, it will be available. I will try the video stores, in the meantime.
It's been about 10 years since i last saw it, and what is Christmas without seeing a lost, sinful, hateful human being transformed into someone loved, blessed, and happy during the most wonderful time of the year? We can see meaning in our own lives, where the Birth of a Blessed Child that took place 2000 years ago gave our sinful, lost lives hope, joy, and meaning. A very fitting movie, indeed!
Happy Days: 30th Anniversary Reunion (2005)
seems like yesterday
Seeing that "Happy Days 30th Anniversary Special", it seems like yesterday when i would religiously watch the show tuesday nights back in the 70's and 80's. Time flies! I liked that a lot of the characters in the show joined together in the original Arnolds drive-in, but was disappointed that they didn't have Lori-Beth and Al included. They were a pretty big part of the show, so they should have been there too. Anyway, i recorded the special onto DVD, so it's preserved in my library of great, enjoyable TV memories. Can't wait till the "Happy Days 50th Anniversary special." Can you imagine, Richie Cunningham a senior citizen? LOL!
