I just finished the series and I honestly don't see why people are so upset. I do agree that the Fingers of the Hand could've been portrayed as a little more powerful but apart from that, this ran much like the other Netflix shows. The characters are all people who I've grown to care for a lot (admittedly I only really started caring about Iron Fist in this series) and I was frankly afraid that there would be too much action when I really wanted to see these very different characters meet and interact and grow both as a team and as people and I'm pretty satisfied with what I got. My main criticism again is the Hand's portrayal, which I think could've used another episode or two just to give some real oomph to their presence in the show. The tones of all 4 shows felt present and I legitimately felt invested in all of these characters. I was honestly terrified for Claire's life during the showdown with Bakuto and, although I am horrified on Misty's behalf, I was somewhat relieved that the only cost was an arm. I'm also glad that they ended the show without any cliffhangers or pressing questions, a lot that has happened in the individual series feels resolved now. Matt's death was something I never believed for a minute, the suspense there honestly came from the thought that he could've died and been revived by the Hand's "substance" method which would've made for an exciting season 3 of Daredevil, but I was already feeling so so bad for Karen and Foggy that I didn't want them going through the fallout from that kind of event. I hope that the writers have already started planning for Season 2 and that it's a bit longer and more developed with respect to its villains. Maybe with some Punisher action in the mix? I'd love to see the way he'd handle himself in a situation with Luke, they feel like polar opposites to me and it would be epic. Here's to season 2 guys, keep on going writers!
