Arrow: Collision Course (2018)
COMPLETELY ILLOGICAL. Just get rid of the new team. Or audiences will get rid of you
First things first. The new team just irritates me to the core. 1) They decide to physically hurt john intentionally. 2) They decided not to hold back their punches(literally). 3) They are the ones childishly fighting without proper context.
And what they do??? Foolishly whine that the original Team Arrow crossed the line. Is there any sense in this?
Second thing that bugged me was that the team arrow is not giving the proper reply to those team losers. When they accuse felicity and diggle of crossing the line, what they forgot to realize was that they were the prime reason to do so.
i wonder how long the writers would punish us with this losers team.
The Gifted (2017)
Surprisingly Blew my mind
Before watching the pilot episode, I didn't even know about this show. I didn't watch trailer, promo or anything for that matter. I watched this show just like that without any expectation. Man did I get my mind blown or not.
This is not a classic superhero show but full on emotions and drama with a perfectly choeographed action sequences. The CGI is amazing that you might forget you are watching a TV show.
Performances are good and the team is doing one hell of a job in bringing out an original product.
More surprising thing I saw was the directors the production house hired for the first two episodes. Bryan Singer for the pilot episode and Len wiseman for the second episode... Yesssss!!! And they did their everything to make the foundation right for this show.
Go for it without a doubt!! Will entertain you in a level that you wouldn't have thought of!
13 Reasons Why (2017)
Awesome Writing, Awesome Performance for a super Awesome Content!!! MISS IT AT YOUR OWN RISK
Introduction:
First of all, I did not know about this show for a longg time. But when I keep reading about the expressions of the people who were awestruck about this product, I got no choice to go chase it. And that is how I came into the world of one 'Hannah Baker'.
My Review (aka) Experience:
As given in the 'Plot Summary', Clay Jensen finds a bundle of tapes left for him by his dead friend Hannah who just committed suicide. And just like Clay, even we are intrigued to know what's in those tapes. In those tapes, she had mentioned the 13 reasons why she committed suicide.
When they unveil the tapes one by one in each episodes, the SHEER BRILLIANCE in writing by those writers never ceases to amaze you which is supported by the fantabulous performance by the lead pair. Be it Clay's character or Hannah's character or Tony, the character sketch is sooo beautiful that you are willing to watch the whole show again.
The 13 people in Hannah's life who gave her no choice but to take her life, forms the plot and it has been handled in an awesome manner.
Katherine Langford (who plays Hannah Baker) is such a doll and is making a statement here. Dylan Minnette too has given his maximum to justify his character. All other supporting characters has done well from their part.
Even though the 80% of the show goes on with background voice as a narrative, there hasn't been a single scene I got bored. Such is the intensity in the writing.
Coming to the content, The writers have taken up the content that is globally a common factor. The struggles of a girl in her high school has been portrayed beautifully to showcase the pain of a girl. They have also given the signs that could possibly be found out to help those girls in pain and that is what stands out in this show wholely.
Verdict: This is a show that you can't afford to miss. SORRY, I'M OUT OF ADJECTIVES HERE...
Vivegam (2017)
IGNORE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. This one is a MUST watch. Why? Pls. go ahead
The reason for saying it is a must watch is because, at least after seeing this movie, the impression on Indian Action movies among the audiences will change. This is one hell of an action ride.
The movie revolves around a SPY agent 'AK' and his quest to stop the people who wants to create artificial earthquakes using Plutonium weapons.
I like this movie not because the genre is new to Indian Cinema. It is because the way they executed it. Apart from some cliché heroism like evading hundreds of bullets, the movie is executed upon a beautiful emotional quotient.
The stunt sequences are too brilliant and the way it was conceived by the writer and executed by him.
Coming to the story part, the writer(and director) Siva has come up with the usual spy story. But instead of exploring the story, he made it a cat and mouse game kinda screenplay. It itches a little bit when we see something that could've been explored better was left to be a thin plot instead.
Pros :
1. Jet Speed Screenplay,
2. Action Sequences,
3. Ajith's Screen Presence
4. Siva's Direction
5. No smoking, drinking, glamour scenes or vulgar dialogues.
6. Screenplay talking about self motivation and positivity.
Cons :
1. CG could've been better.
2. Climax is tooooooo f*****g dramatic.
3. Predictable interval twist.
I came by some reviewers saying it is not logical in some scenes (like the dam scene). I would say, "Folks! This is how spy movies are made. This is how action movies are made. Period!!!" If you can accept people falling from planes with their cars, why would this disturb you? Just because it is an Indian movie?? or because it is not directed by Shankar or Rajamouli?? Change your view people. Take pride when it happens.
Overall: This movie is a treat for Action Movie lovers. It is a WORTHY PopCorn Flick. Go for it!!!
Iron Fist (2017)
Doesn't deserve all the hate
First of all, this show is far more engaging than Luke cage. I don't know why people would give such comments on this show. Yes, there are flaws with how the lead character is introduced. But, the plot remains intact and the flow of the show is good. The main drawback for the show (maybe the only one as far as I'm concerned) is the look of the lead character Danny Rand. Why should he look with that God awful beard???
And performance wise, I would say "Stop blaming Finn Jones! He may not be great actor (according to bad reviewers' standards), but definitely a worthy performer. Period!!"
