Thanksgiving (2023)
Good, but not great.
I'm not one for overhyping stuff, and this has been a little bit. However, it's a very good movie. A bit slow in the middle. The beginning is the best part in my opinion, and there should have been more of the table scene, seeing the movie uses so much time setting it up. The kills is by far the best part. Very graphic, mean spirited and inventive. It's without a doubt the best thanksgiving horror movie, but that doesn't say much. Temper your expectations and have a blast. It holds the posisibility for a sequel open, and I would be very open to it.
Spoilers:
The sheriff being the killer was kind of obvious, but awesome nonetheless.
Tanoshî Mûmin ikka (1990)
The Best Animated Show Ever.
This show had me glued to the screen when i was a child. I loved the characters and i loved the atmosphere. It was very scary at times! Mostly the episodes featuring The Groke. I had nightmares about that eerie creature and it scarred me for life in some way, because i never forgot it and i never will. The look of it's eyes in the dark outside the Moomins house. And the terrifying sound it made... Kayako from The Grudge has nothing on The Groke.
As another reviewer stated you always fear that it will pop out and scare the living crap out of you. You feel it's presence even though it isn't there. The way they set up the first appearence of The Groke was simply awesome, with the two small creatures Thingumy and Bob on the run from something and the fear they feel for it was unnerving to say the least. She's coming.
I can recommend it to everyone who hasn't seen it yet. You won't be disappointed. You'll be taken back to a time when tv animation still had heart and soul. A must watch! Go see it.
Pet Sematary (2019)
Rushed and forgetable
I read the book Before watching this, and all the things i looked forward to was either left out rushed or changed to Something completely unrecognisable. No mention of the micmacs, no funeral fight, no stake out at the graveyard or a tall and problematic fence just a small Stonewall he jumps over, a rushed and changed Zelda scene and a whole new ending which was just awful. All in all a disappointment.
Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
Not as bad as they say.
The film is not at all as bad as some make it sound. Granted i walked in with very low expectations, i've never been a big Han Solo fan, but i felt entertained through most of the movie. A couple of weird choices from a story perspective, but It looks like a Star Wars movie and sound like one to. As you can tell i'm not a particular good "reviewer" i don't know anything about angles or ligting, but i know a porper Star Wars Movie when i see it, give it a chance, you might like it.
Wrong Turn VI (2014)
Where did the storyline go?
A pretty bad movie. Nothing more. I am a big fan of the series, number 1 was my absolute favorite, i like the prequel they started in number 4 but number 5 was weird but still made sense in the "storyline" of the other films. But what the hell is up with this one? It does not make any sense what so ever, it has absolutely nothing to do with the previous movies other than the 3 inbred brothers. It pisses me of, but i hope they are putting more sense to it in the 7th movie and explains what exactly was going on in this one. A random guy who inherit a hotel and is somehow related to the 3 brothers, a small "town" in the middle of the woods with a whole bunch of inbreeds and a weird and creepy brother and sister running the hotel. But where the hell has their dad gone? I was hoping this would tie the prequels together with the original trilogy somehow like the last "final destination" maybe the ending could have been the brothers view from the opening scene at the 1st one with the mountaineering. But no we just get a movie that has absolutely nothing to do with the rest.
