Easily the best hindi serial of past decade
8 May 2020
I have only seen two hindi serials till now. Iss pyar ko kya naam do and KRPKAB. First one was good because of undeniable chemistry between the leads . It had a weak plot, especially in later seasons when it was quite frustrating to watch, obvious loopholes and a villain whose character had no shades of grey. Still it worked because of the charm that leads brought and good acting by the supporting cast. KRPKAB, on the other hand, works because it follows a consistent storyline throughout its runtime. The chemistry of devakshi is icing on the cake. Show's quality did drop off little bit in the middle but it was compensated by latter episodes which were pretty good. Acting wise my favourite is Mamaji ,Dev's Mom, Aisha and Bijoy. Others have done good work too. Erica and Shaheer have done justice to their roles.

So if you are planning to watch a hindi serial right now, it can't get any better than this . Download Sonylive and you are in for a ride!

Superb chemistry makes it what it is
27 July 2019
First, Little bit about me. I am currently unemployed for a while now. So sitting at home I watch tv series and movies all day. I have watched lots of great tv shows in my college days from crime dramas like Breaking Bad, Sopranos to comedies like Seinfeld, The Office etc. So you see, I have seen some superbly written stuff on the screen. IPKKYND is not one of them. I am an Indian and I hear a lot about quality of our hindi TV shows . One has to understand that the target audience is very different in case of these soap operas. You can't expect 'Sherlock' to be enjoyed by a audience that consists primarily of Moms, teenage girls who are looking for some entertainment. Secondly it is unfair to compare shows that are tightly written for 80-100 episodes with these tv shows that run for more than 400 episodes. So when I say IPKKND is very good serial ,I say it minding all these limitations. What works for this show is the chemistry between two leads and I have to say that, the director has exploited that a lot. Sometimes it seems Arnab and Khusi make eye contact for too long amidst an shot sequence that seems improbable in real life. A background tune comes every time they meet, (I have to admit that I really started liking it ,by the time show ended ) while camera moves around showing their faces. It amazes me that it never felt overdone (It might have to do with big crush I have on Sanaya) Apart from the two leads, small charecters are woven beautifully into the plot. Mamiji ,Buaji,NK, Nani ji all do justice to their role. My favourite is Buaji with her 'NandKishore', with Mamiji a close second. The show is far from perfect and around sixth season I wanted to quit watching . It seemed like they wanted to overstretch the show with some loose storylines. However I stuck to it as I really felt connected with the characters. All in all a show recommended to viewers who like romance with bits of comedy.

This show surpassed my expectations in every way.I noticed my mother watched it on Zindagi channel. In college one of my friends recommended it to me.I love shows like Breaking Bad,Friends,Six feet under etc. This is my first Pakistani show and what a show it is!.If you like drama with social issues stressed upon ,this is a show for you .If you like shows with good looking lead characters ,who have a superb chemistry between them, this show is made for you. All in all i fell in love with Kashaf Murtaza, and now I watch every episode and regret why i watched it.Maybe i could go back in time and watch it again!.Silly huh? .Maybe your thoughts about me change, once you give it a try.

Deeply moving emotional drama
5 February 2015
Wow!As the show ended ,i realized how much i miss the characters. Also this show compelled me to write my first review .I think this show has the most mature and realistic ending of all the shows i have watched . Frankly i did not expect much from this show when i began watching it. The most strong point about this show is the character development. Each character is so brilliantly explored, whether it is Ruth,Claire,Brenda or David. They felt so real!! I fell in love with Brenda, as soon as I watched the first episode.I honestly think that she is one of most interesting characters in TV series history. She had a tough childhood and it had quite an effect on her relationships and her way of dealing with life. The character of Ruth is depicted as anxious and restless and i found her very irritating at times but i can sympathize with her.The part is superbly acted. At the beginning ,I thought Nate was the lead character of show, but i realized that each character was equally explored .Lauren Ambrose is wonderful as Claire with such acting talents at young age.Michael C.hall as gay funeral director is again very convincing. Also one other thing about the show is that in the middle of emotional involving scenes,it succeeds in giving few laughs .Like someone imagines the way things would be and things actually turn out to be quite opposite.Relationships with in a family have been explored like never before(and yes I have seen Sopranos and breaking bad). One weak point maybe that in its attempt to explore each character,it might appear boring or slow as the character might be unlikable. To sum it up ,superbly written, brilliantly acted, deeply moving and yet not for everyone. If you like drama(the wire, sopranos,BB) you should give it a try .
