The end of the trilogy
21 March 2023
I love this trio of films. It makes superheroes even more real to me. Its so clever in the way it constructs the understanding of how there are superheroes in the world but they still have their human qualities, and vulnerabilities. As with all Shyamalan films there is the often the unexpected twist. Luckily he doesn't do it for the sake of it. Anyway all true fans of the superhero genre should love this trio of films. They all have so much in them. I don't like the ending though. It's not how I wanted it to conclude either which I've noticed lots of others have said too. Then I suppose that's why he's so unique in his films and stories, because he doesn't do it as a crowd pleaser our Shyamalan, he stays true to his story and that's why the critics don't like him. Always to be admired that Especially since half of the critics couldn't write a paragraph of a play never mind a whole film. So yah boo sucks to the trolls....

Thoroughly enjoyable film. It makes perfect sense
16 February 2023
I notice some people said it makes no sense. Nope if you've followed the other stories surrounding Lisbeth Salander a real hero/heroine for today then you'd get it. It's a tribute to the originals. The girl with the dragon tattoo, the girl who played with fire, the girl who kicked the hornets nest. They were the genius of Steig Larsson a Swedish author and political activist. He died when he was fifty of a heart attack. Sadly his books were just gaining popularity. He lived with his partner for three decades, as he wasn't talking to his family. Eva Gabrielsson was then basically screwed out of her rightful money. He left no will but the family swooped in. Horrible. So this was done as the fourth installment and it's pretty good. Claire Foy is really good as Lisbeth. I love Noami Rapace in the 3 Swedish films, but I think that it's a fitting tribute to the whole genre. The only one I didnt like was Daniel Craig version. He just didn't suit being Mikael Blomkvist, but Mara Rooney was good. They were in the American remake of the girl with the dragon tattoo. It really didn't need remaking. I just wanted people to know it's not just a random film and reading some of the user reviews they most certainly didn't do their research. I felt compelled to share so that people can see it's part of a series and I think they did a great job, and I like to think of it as a tribute to Steig and his fantastic series of books. This is an exciting film, beautifully shot, the actors all excellent in their roles. Even Steven Merchant as the scientist and father of a young boy. I won't tell you anymore. You're intelligent. Check it out it's a great film. A woman who kicks the ass of male abusers. We need more of this, but if you enjoyed it watch the others too.

Great Film
11 February 2023
OH behave the people who pull it to bits aren't creative. Just blinded by blockbuster Tripe. Give this good spooky story a fair chance. It is suspensful and I think it's really creepy. It doesn't have to be believeable, which is a comment in a few of the unkinder reviews. IT'S A HORROR FILM!! When was the last time we all discussed the realism of Halloween 37? Behave. This is a hide behind the cushion with your friends having a giggle and a eww. The build up is good, I think the actors are talented too, the story a bit different than a lot of horror films, and it's well worth a watch. The best part is it's on Film 4 at the moment, so it will be on all 4 so FREE!! Give it a go. It had a sort of Misery feel at first, whereas Annie Wilkes is just barking mad with a pyschopaths upper body strength. These have Voodoo hoodoo on their side. Never trust middle aged women who don't swear and curse. Ever......

Disappointed there is no season 4
17 December 2022
Just like we waited patiently for the Rick Grimes movies as the WD was finishing so we waited for Season 4 of wanted In a way I wanted more but it was perfect as it was too. There is always the thought that like Fools and Horses and others that the thing we crave the most disappoints. However I don't see how with this amazing cast, crew it could ever disappoint. This show is one of the best. I only do great TV now there is far too much fodder out there to distract us. The Wanted is as perfect a series as there is. If you've not seen it WATCH it. I love the combination of the two lead characters. There is a sort of realism to the whole thing that makes it stand out immediately. The characters can be funny and sweet but like all us women now as we get older we have an amazing strength that is too often overlooked. The resolve of Lola to help is as ingrained as is the need for vaccuous valley girls to copy the Kardashians. I love these women they have so many different aspects to their characters that you are bound to recognise some of them in yourself. It's unique and wonderful and although I didn't watch it until recently I'm so glad I found it. It doesn't matter in the least about what sex you are, great TV is great TV. I have deliberately left out any of the plot, you're not stupid and I want you to have the joy of finding out how good this is for yourself. Suffice to say I'll be binge watching it from the beginning in the future. Bravo Australia I've been a fan of your TV since the original Prisoner Cell Block H. Keep up the great work of bringing out these superb shows.

Cracking film
10 November 2022
I thought this was an excellent film. It engaged me right the way through, which doen't happen that much.. I love Joel Edgerton anyway and I was imipressed with all the cast Natalie giving a wonderful and believable perfomance as Jane. It is dire and the thing I thought was good was the absolute attention to detail. It wasn't glamorous like most of the older genre of Wessterns. Nope it was horrible, incluing the brothel on how it really was, instead of gorgeous women with pretty dresses and feathers in their hair. Anyway my favourite type of film a revenge pot of blood, guts and. Loveliness. Smashing stuff.

Still Crazy Like a Fox (1987 TV Movie)

Fab Fun
28 January 2022
I love it when the Yanks pay homage to us. And they do in this. It's funny and entertaining all the way through. Poor old Graham Chapman from Python plays the usual stuffy English policeman but he's good. It was his last role sadly before he died. One thing I have to mention is as the story at the beginning of every episode of Crazy like a Fox explains that Senior Fox is the detective and that Junior Fox Harrison is a lawyer, a solicitor, a brief. Seriously thats the whole premise for the show so the person who wrote the gumf up above saying that they're two of USA'S finest private detectives is lying about watching it. Shame on you and someone needs to correct it. It's annoying as most of the plots are based on Harry getting into trouble and Harrison being forced to help. The film is great fun. Hilarious in parts when Harrison has to dress as a woman. He looks good to be fair, and all the little twists and turns and references to the Tube etc. A film most definitely worthy of a Duvet day or a rainy afternoon. Wonderful stuff.

Refreshingly real
28 January 2022
This is a cracking dark tale of life behind the blue line. Martin is so good in this role. You believe in his ability to kick arse even with his size because he's embraced this character one hundred percent. I do get annoyed when people refer to size. One of the hardest men in the world was small. Bruce Lee, not counting lots of others. Small and stocky is often far more deadly than tall and skinny or with gym muscles. For a start they can't move fast. I digress. His Scouse accent coming from that area like I do is superb. Nowt wrong with it lad. None of the usual crap that people label us with either. Eh eh eh yeah Thanks Harry Enfield I can't say too much because I don't want to spoil a minute of it. One comment his mate Carl one of the tabloids said he had a dodgy hair cut. I wonder how old that person is, who reviewed it. He obviously is wearing a scouse perm and like some men in the city decided to keep his 80's look. Some of us do that. Get stuck in our favourite era and why shouldn't we? There are quite a few surprises and every cast member is so skilled you become drawn into the story you forget where you are. I binge watched on BBCi player and glad I did. If you're expecting Dixon of Dock green don't watch it. If you like dark, realistic and enough to make us question our choices in life then go for it.

Interesting film
18 January 2022
I gave this a ten because I got sick of the whiny reviews off other so called film experts. Mickey Rourke is amazing in this role. After him being the wrestler he actually looks way better now than he did a decade ago. What I like about him is he is himself and for this role it was suited. I really enjoyed this film for a bit of whimsy and although as most people my age I get irritated by teens drama I still remember what it felt like to be a teen so I can forgive them. I also think MR is brave because he embraces being older and let's be honest some other actors his age would take a freak rather than let someone mention their age, never mind take the piss out of it. Bit of fun with a few good messages. Perfect for a duvet day.

What's happened to Barbie
13 August 2021
This is the usual festofcrazy partners that seemed to be created around 2017. They churn these out with amazing speed. I think theyre honest. They don't try to be anything they're not. Excellent for duvet day. However Barbie the mains star has for some reason regressed. Her vally girl voice is so false, and irritating. She's a great actress and I prefer her husky slightly older lady voice. Barbie we know you're a good actress but please don't aim for cute and whiny when you're normally strong and sexy. It's a daft film to distract you with the Heinz tomato soup and sly packet of kit kats. Don't expect anything more. If someone proposed like that to me I'd cut their throat and throw them overboard.

Find It Fix It Flog It (2016–2022)

Good for DIY fans and upcyclers
5 July 2021
I like this, I feel sorry for Simon sometimes because he sees the real beauty in an object and Gemma comes along with her bloody emulsion and pastel colours and spoils it. The beautiful old dolls house, Georgian looking house with old furniture. They had so many lovely wooden models and she painted them. MY GOD my mum did that in the 1960s and ruined so many antiques. At least they had an excuse it was after the war and they wanted colour because the conscription furniture was so dull. Anyway him and Henry have me in stitches. I've loved Simon since he was on Brookside and to see him do well with property and so on is a joy. Sadly Gemma looks like 1980s Debbie who was Simon's love interest when they were together in Damon and Debbie. So there! Tell us if it comes back with these lot make sure she's not let loose on something like that again. She is so selfish she wanted it how she liked it and took about a grand off the value. She's done it loads. They make mistakes that's the fun but she needs to stop it. Oh and I'm an artist too a real one so I know what I'm talking about LOL.

It was a great show
15 June 2021
I thought the premise was fantastic. Also it helped the truly stupid access what it's like to be deaf. The title was a bit weird but that's not what spoilt it. IT was the soppy music. For some reason it really really annoys me At the end when Sue would shre some wisdom and fix the world it was the music that ruined it. It was a good show, well acted, great actors of course dynamic team, loved the characters and the stories. But why is everything soppy. They try and put the darkness across sometimes and it worked. When Sue is attacked and you can see it from her point of view and she just screams how terrifying that would be. Then the soppy music. If they could have just not done it. I want to hear the actors as well. I'm sure that's why it wasn't renewed.

Trip back in time
22 August 2020
Watching Eva play Jennifer's beloved aunt made me think of I dream of Genie. It takes you back to 1960's shows in style and in dialogue. I think it was written for her rather than the usual cast. It was good though and it had the wacky sort of humour that belonged to the 60's too. Although the vaseline was obviously over the lens on Eva she still looks exactly the same as she did decades earlier. She must be one of the best when it come to earlier plastic surgery. I thnk some of the people now could do with taking a leaf out of her book. Anyway it wasn't your average Hart to Hart, something different but I felt relief when it went back to the 80's next episode. It's fun it's great to switch off to but don't mess with the magic formula.

Perfect recreation of the clubs of the 1980's
14 May 2019
Although English I was a teenager in the 1980s going into my early 20's. I loved the club scene even in the UK. There was Planet X where basically anything went. You could dress how you want, shag who you wanted, kill the ozone layer with your hairspray, boys and girls toilets no longer existed. There was gay night, straight night, Goth night. I loved the Gay nights because they were so glamorous. It may have only been Liverpool, but we had our fair share of celebrities. For example Holly Johnson from Frankie goes to Hollywood stripped off and swung from the rafters and was ejected from the club. (Well before camera phones!) Echo and the Bunnymen were about Teardrop explodes, China Crisis, my mate from Half Man Half Biscuit. I Loved it all and POSE brings back those feelings, of the new, the glamour, the bitchiness but also the love that was celebrated in the clubs. I think POSE Is amazingly brave and honest, it has the glamour but the heart ache of AIDS which unless you went through the 80's dreading the result if you got tested you cannot know how frightening that was. Nobody survived then. You had no chance because look at Liberace and Freddie Mercury absolutely minted and no cure. POSE reminds me of all that as well as being an outstanding series so for me it's pure heaven. If you miss this because of some uptight arses problem then remember this. You're missing TV heaven and they're the ones with the problem not you. MORE PLEASE MORE.........
