Rowhouse Showdown (2014)
Next time more design, less drama
I really enjoyed seeing how these houses that have such beautiful bones, be brought beach to their glory. I just wish they didn't focus so much on the drama participants. I don't care for reality drama shows. But I love watching design and transformations. I just couldn't stand Geoff and, especially, Josh's personalities. They are cringe-worthy. I watched the show for design, not their dumb, narcissistic, diva drama. The idea that people find that awful behavior entertaining, saddens me. I loved watching Dan and Katie design and solve problems. They are professionals who act like adults, not bratty children like the former. I'd love to see more seasons, but without the childish antics.
Overall, I love the idea of taking a dilapidated building and bringing it back to life, and would love to see more of that.
Inventing Anna (2022)
It's just "eh"
I agree with others. Had higher hopes for this show. I just barely finished the second episode and find it a bit slow and dragged out. Too many fillers. The accent was annoying. The characters so far have been an annoying, minus the husband and the Ana's lawyer.
Oh and too many obvious political preaching moments that had nothing to do with the story itself! Just Netflix trying to push their Hollywood hypocritical religion on you again. It makes me not want to waste more time on this. Such a turn off! (although, I shouldn't be surprised, seeing as who the major political backer of Netflix is).
Good Witch: The Delivery (2021)
Disappointing how bad...
Wow, did this episode seem forced! Poor choice from the writers, producers, etc. They try too hard to "fit in" with the rest of the world, but can't even keep a storyline straight. At least they mention Grace's character. They've completly ignored Grace's brother, sister-in-law, and sister. Maybe they ought to pay better attention to the original storyline and stop trying to pander to the politically "correct". It was not organic at all. They looked uncomfortable and forced. Not sure I'll continue watching.
Love Hard (2021)
Not awful, just "eh".
I think the biggest problem here was the lack of chemistry between the 2 leads. Just makes the ending unbelievable. Maybe if it was cast better. Wasn't a fan of the lead actress. I had no desire to root for her or her character. I did feel some compassion for the lead male character.
And the parts with elderly people saying "hip, cool" vulgar things is just not funny. Felt a bit forced. Like that's the only idea they had to get a laugh from the audience. Actually, calling this a comedy at all is stretching the truth quite a bit.
I consider myself a big Rom-Com fan, that can re-watch movies in that genre many times. Although, I don't feel like I wasted time watching this, I'm sure I won't watch this one again.
Project Runway: First Impressions (2019)
This show has not aged well!
I've been watching since season 2. Wow, this show has gone downhill the past few years! It's no wonder Heidi and Tim left. Now, all they do is try to push current political agenda. Just design and sew!! I'll definitely stick to the other show, which has actual working designers who already run successful fashion businesses, and still have much smaller egos.
Nothing Trivial: Carrots Improve Your Eyesight, True or False? (2013)
Just another Planned Parenthood Plug
I really couldn't stand them pushing the idea of abortion as it being a no big deal solution. As Jo said, "People do it all the time", without addressing the major emotional issues that affect so many of these people down the line. But then again, the show is full of selfish, self - serving hypocrites as lead characters. The 4 stars are for Brian and Emma, who are the only redeeming characters in this episode. Wish they had been given more air time . I could do with a lot less Jo.
Bless This Mess (2019)
Quirky and Carefree writing with a Great Cast
With all of the drama and toxicity all around us in real life and on TV, this show was a breath of fresh air. Funny, quirky, and some great chemistry between the leads. There wasn't one character I didn't like. I looked forward to a new episode each week. I was saddened to find out it was canceled. It was so nice to not have to endure the raunchiness, political indoctrination, and the ever so polular "dysfunctional family" trend that you find everywhere else. I mean c'mmon already! Get a new story, Hollywood! I doubt another clean, fun show like this will come along again.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020)
Thanks for season 1. Should've ended there.
I was one of the people praying and hoping they wouldn't cancel after season 1. Even if there were times I felt Hollywood was trying to push their "religion" down our throats. But season 1 was for the most part a solid 8, maybe 9. The amount of pandering in the following season is unreal. And honestly the story line just isn't really going anywhere anymore. They should've stopped at season 1. I'm over it this show.
