Bling Empire: New York (2023)
Hard to tell if it is real or they are acting
Some of those people are spoiled for sure but you can not be that stupid or ignorant. So I think most of it is acting and arranged. My only favorite character is the jewelry designer who seems actually hardworking and good at what she does. Although his husband is a total d***. But he is a real character.
I watched it just to get a glimpse of New York City. But the filming locations are not New York at all. It feels like they are all set up locations. I wish I could see more of New York City and more action on the streets.
Seeing how different those characters look on TV and on their Instagram accounts is funny.
In general, it is very boring and hard to watch.
The Lost Daughter (2021)
Olivia Colman, Elena Ferrante, Greek island in summer what can go wrong?
Such a good story on a Greek island in summer with Olivia Colman as the lead character and a story based on Elena Ferrante book. It was a disappointment. This could be a much better movie. I feel like the director tried too hard to make an artsy movie. Some scenes do not make sense and feels unrelated to the movie. I did not understand how the hikers scene was related to the story.
Modern Love: When the Doorman Is Your Main Man (2019)
the dumbest story I've ever watched
The young lady goes walk out her apartment and comes back as if she just went to the grocery store across the city and came back with a bah apples.
Never Let Me Go (2010)
somewhat agree, yet disagree
I agree with the comment Music video director Mark Romanek has had a somewhat easy transition into the way of feature filmmaking (he made his debut in 2002 with the creepy Robin Williams thriller "One Hour Photo"), and "Never Let Me Go" is easily the director's best work.
But I do not think the book is about a love story at all. As usual in my experience the book is a lot richer than the movie. It gradually leads the reader to the ending.
I am not an UK resident. But even I, envisioned a lot better places that movie could take space in coastal Britain. The movie was disappointing in that way.
