*Cool and Menacing Gunslingers, Interesting Plot, Thought Provoking Scenerios, Stylistic Gunfights, Epic Music with Mexican Standoff and Treasure Hunt! - The Greatest Western Ever Made in the History of Cinema!
*"The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" is a 1966 Italian Epic Spaghetti Western Film Directed by Sergio Leone. Based on a Story by Luciano Vincenzoni and Sergio Leone. Starring Clint Eastwood as "the Good", Lee Van Cleef as "the Bad" and Eli Wallach as "the Ugly". Main theme of the Film is Greed. Also it has Cruelty, Violence, Anti War theme. And as the Story progresses, The line Between Good,Bad and Ugly becomes Blur and with some Gray shade the characters become More like Anti Heroes. Nobody is Totally Good or Bad or Ugly, maybe Lee Van Cleef's Character is Totally Bad but you get my Point. As Leone noted that Like many of his Films, this is also a Satire on Western Genre, more like Satire on Old West Romanticism. It shows the More Violent, More Complex Old West. It has been Called the Definitive Spaghetti Western.
*The Plot revolves around Three Gunslingers, a Cynical and Confident Bounty Hunter only known as Blondie, a Ruthless, Sadistic Mercenary called Angel Eyes and a Fast-talking Cunning Mexican Bandit called Tuco. Set in 1862, During the American Civil War, the three of them Compete to Find Fortune in Gold Buried in a Cemetery. The Plot is very Simple. As the Story go Forward, They land in Many Difficult Situations and Gunfights. The Character Development of The Movie is Perfect. Every Scenes of Tuco And Blondie is just Great and Funny. Some Scenes like Tuco meeting his Brother, Tuco buying Revolver, Angel Eyes torturing Tuco with the Music in the Background, Tuco and Blondie meets the Alcoholic union Captain in the ongoing war on the Bridge, The Mexican Standoff Between the Trio are just Epic. Every Scene and Dialogue of the Movie is Great and I Love Every bit of It. The Cinematography was great too with the use Of Classic Leone Long Shots and Close-up.
*Sergio Leone is the Master of Western Films. By his Films, He expanded the Spaghetti western genre and Became an International Sensation. This film is The third of the "Dollar Trilogy" or also known as "The Man with No Name Trilogy", Starring Clint Eastwood as the Titular Hero. Although the Story is not Related in the Trilogy, the Films are - 1) A Fistful of Dollars 2) For a Few Dollars More 3) the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. I love the trilogy but This is my most Favorite films of All time. As I said Earlier, this is the Greatest western ever made, with "Once Upon a Time in the West" comes as close second, Another one of Sergio Leone. I also love his less Popular "Duck, You Sucker", it was a Great western too. American Westerns didn't come close to this, but "The Magnificent Seven", "Stagecoach", "Rio Bravo", "High Noon" were some Great Competitors.
*The Actors - Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach did a Phenomenal Job. Nobody Will ever forget their Acting,Character after Watching the film. Clint Eastwood is the Most Stylish, Cool Western Hero Ever. His Mannerisms, Quiet Behavior, Menacing Look, Cigar-Smoking Gunslinger is Immortalized. Lee Van Cleef also Acted in Many westerns as Positive and Negative Characters, but this is the Most great Character He Ever Played. As everybody that saw the film, will Agree with me, that Eli Wallach stole the Show as Tuco! He also had the Most Scenes to work too and He nailed it Perfectly as the Comical but Cunning Bandit. The Supporting Casts did Great too, specially Aldo Giuffre as Alcoholic Union Captain, Mario Brega as Corporal Wallace, Luigi Pistilli as Father Pablo Ramirez.
*The Music was composed by the Legend Ennio Morricone. So as a Result some Legendary Scores were Created. "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly Main theme", "the Story of a Soldier", "the Ecstacy of Gold" are just to name a Few. Every Background Score of this movie is Epic.
*I am a Great Fan of the Western Genre and I think Everybody should Watch this Film. It's Old but It's an Epic Film. It is also One of the Best Film ever made in the History of Cinema. A Cinematic Masterpiece.
