Lioness (2023)
It's Fiction
I'm amused by all these people reviewing this show and saying it's terrible because it doesn't depict an accurate view of a Special Operations force. Of course it doesn't. It's a fictional story people. If you want accuracy watch documentaries. I binge watched all 8 episodes and was looking for more by the end. For sure it's got some plot holes and maybe a little far fetched at times but if it wasn't it would not be as interesting. A lot of this story was about the politics of the CIA, how family relationships are affected by the roles they're in, and not really about the action. To get hung up on how many pull-ups or pushups someone can do totally misses the point of the show. A great show with a good story and hopefully followed up with a second season.

Story was Confusing
Okay maybe I'm a bit slow but I was confused with the whole story. Had he gone back in time? If he did how did that happen. When they left the planet how were they going to get back to their own time in an escape pod? Then after reading some of the reviews it finally dawned on me. They're not human. Okay the clues were there. The wave rocks and the story about people travelling through space but it didn't mean anything until the end. This movie probably needed to be about 20 minutes longer so the story was better explained. Maybe though they were going for a shock ending which in the wash up didn't really get there. This was a bit like me at school in that it never realised it's full potential.
The Dark Tower (2017)
Haven't read the books
As someone who hasn't read the Stephen King books that the movie is based on I have a different perspective than other reviewers. If you're comparing a movie to a book then it's pretty rare that you will not be disappointed but if you have nothing to compare it to then you look at it as a stand alone piece of work and this is not too bad. It's pretty much a good vs evil story. Mathew McCoughanhey is very evil and Idris Elba is very good. The story is good and the acting is excellent. Okay nobody will win an Oscar for this but on the other hand you don't start watching this and think what the hell am I wasting my time on this for. Not a bad movie as long as you haven't read the books apparently.
Black Widow (2021)
Not as bad as they would have you believe
I think the one thing that I've learned is not to take too seriously other peoples views on movies. For a start if I'm watching an MCU movie I'm going to expect CGI, fight scenes and people doing stuff that we mere mortals can't do. If I wanted a serious true life story I wouldn't be watching this but if you want a fun couple of hours where belief can be suspended for a while and my expectations are for explosions, people getting bashed, and a few funny lines along the way then this is for you. Okay it's not Hamlet but we learnt a bit more about Natasha and I can see her 'sister' becoming an Avenger in later movies and I think she would do a good job. Don't think about it too deeply. Just sit back and enjoy it for what it is.
Treadstone (2019)
You need to concentrate
I thought I should write this after reading so many bad reviews. This is not a show you can just sit down and watch without giving it your full attention. I agree it could be confusing with the flashbacks and the parallel story lines but if you focus and persevere to the end it all becomes clear and makes sense.
It is a well written series with a strong story line and if you put the effort in and watch until the end you will be rewarded. I did find myself having to explain some of it to my wife, who hasn't a lot of patience, but after the first couple of episodes it started to make sense. It's not perfect and it's a bit of a slow burner but worth the effort.
