Annemarie Schwarzenbach Duende (2012)
Review by Andrzej Slodkowski, shorten by Malga Kubiak
REVIEW BY ANDRZEJ SLODKOWSKI. Deepening Malga Kubiak's intellectual LGBT topics, although in many of her films erotic elements appear on front plan, which is merely the effect of a tornado to perception of the viewer, here female genitals, might make u forget about the rest of the world.
Eroticism impresses in ANNEMARIE SCHARZENBACH DUENDE, yet shows a certain period of the history of European culture where very subjective of things like homosexual love or opium, goes to the biographical film in historical context of the III Reich, yet tells the story of La Bohème. Klaus Mann appears, Stanislawa Przybyszewska, Margot Von Opel & many others. Erica Mann is only mentioned, she is physically absent, although she was the great though unrequited love Annemarie Schwarzenbach have consumed. When it comes to style is presented here to the era of fits. A.S.Duende is classic, malleable in the frames, also a theater, segments wreck, clearly images, strong light, color sharpness, details of costumes, architecture / filmed in Stockholm, who plays Berlin 1933, especially fascinates in the club black backgrounds, to this are highly exposed details of art or acting. This is the advantage of theatricality. This is not the American cinema, its the prospect of detention in the frame. The scene is panoramic, are also a half staff, depth of field is interesting, is distinguished in plan 1, 2, 3 as classic Orson Wells method. III Reich documentaries shown by Crystal Night marches, swastika with candles, burning books under Rajhstag. Shortness of documentary moments does not interrupt the lesbian love story and club scenes. Although the movie of Malga Kubiak is not a musical its aesthetic could have prototypes in such masterpieces as Twilight of the Gods by Visconti or Bob Fosse's Cabaret. Charleston dance scene shows a joy of life. A historical consciousness, the fall of III Reich, fall of Europe, which represented a decline of freedom in 1933, Berlin, horror stories of German fascism, that is what film heroes await - absolute annihilation and ruins. The film begins with a startling, already bombed in 1945 Unter den Linden in Berlin. Although the plot ends in death of Annemarie Schwarzenbach in 1942. The suggestive Agata Mocarska courageous in the title role of Annemarie Schwarzenbach and Ewelina Roos, & AnToNieTa. Scene Mocarska / Roos; Annemarie lived through outright erotic lovers, erotic fetish strongly emotionally. Sex scene introduces the originality and strength of pornographic elements where Malga Kubiak proverbially shines, typing location in the artistic traditions of erotic cinema. Great creation of Klaus Mann gives Michal Piotrowski who acts also singer in a cabaret, and nurse in New York. In contrast, the grotesque strong sepia scene of lobotomy resembles Marx Brothers's but pronunciation is scary. Annemarie Schwarzenbach's independence, autonomy, internal and external freedom, an icon of freedom in the most basic sense & like every rebellion bears its price. Kubiak makes author's cinema, acts Dr. Forelle. The film immortalizes Polish playwright Stanislawa Przybyszewska / Case Danton /. Hanna Chawki acts one of Schwarzenbach lovers, by being over expressive she gives very strong input. AnToNieTa acts imperious demonic beautiful baroness Margot Von Opel. Paja Rasinska acts young Carson McCullers. For generation of 1930 mattered intensity of life, full dose of self-destruction; Przybyszewska lived 34 years as Schwarzenbach. Both were writers, morphine addicts, undeniable proof of the era; the gods live shortly. Annemarie Schwarzenbach 1908 - 1942 is approaching us, was very unusual in her time. She was a writer, photographer, traveler, documentary filmmaker, a lonesome traveled, she is still unusual in our times... Music, Zbigniew Karkowski Electronic Noise, Hanna Chawki is a musician, singing her own & Kurt Weill Three Penny Opera, Pola Negri sings Tango Noturno, Om Kaulthoume, Dana Platter & Dorota Zarowiecka song by Marlene Dietrich from Blue Angel.
Federico García Lorca Noir Despair (2013)
Review by Andrzej Slodkowski, shorten Malga Kubiak
'EVERY LOVER IS ALWAYS the apple, BUT NEVER Apple is the lover.' F.G.L. New York Poet. 1929.
Malga Kubiak's famous artists biographies, not the smooth feature; fantastic creative cinema shimmering highly dynamic assembly. Surrealists, images, artistic concept are puzzling, known figures in the aesthetics of Malga Kubiak are surreal.
FEDERICO GARCIA LORCA DESPAIR, MARCHING SURREAL FREAKS carry SYMBOLS Chinese dies, skulls lead by F.G.L. Bunuel creator of surrealist cinema, is presented by Ibrachim Faal. Kubiak uses mythology cinema tricks, Bunuel presents himself alike Bond, Bunuel, Luis Bunuel. Rhapsody of impressions, contrasts, and vivid to mild acute. Cabaret scene inspired by Antonioni's The Night, dancer in the body outfit with the wine glass is sexually loaded pearl in the background, Justyna Kowalska! George Bataille is the key to Malga Kubiak, bathtubs Malga's personal sensual phobia. Cinema has a problem with sex as such and every kind and ever. Film creators who have a sexual obsessions and phobias are contempt. Even open-minded courageous critics have succumbed to fear that sex cant be a value in the art of filmmaking, be the defect of the film.
The dead flatfish covers the genitals of Angel Flores seating naked in the waterless tub, suggestive Piotr Owsiany. Naked Salvador Dali (Alexi Carpentieri) in a chasuble, on the edge of the bath, the beauty defiant Mexican An To Nie Ta Mercado! Great role of actress An To Nie Ta! Federico García Lorca makes hot impression, his erotic life was carefully hidden by family and Franco's system; to well understand his poetry and drama / theater / this element is dominant.
Lorca is involved playwright, the director, Bunuel is his friend again. Lorca discovers love, Bunuel teasing everyone, being a sober artist, the director of the best of kind, and great surrealist Dali. Lorca managed to leave for New York for sexual tourism activities and studies. He wrote New York Poet there. This poetry is structuring a big part of the movie. This text makes artistic polyphony. Malga Kubiak cinema Off corresponds to the surrealist themes as she added her own elements, emotions and keys. Josefina Baker falls of the pedestal icon turning the woman of flesh and bones and blood, presenting modern dancing incredibly sensual. Vianna Asencio is stunning and unforgettable. Not to miss on Michal Piotrowski acting 3R! New York Poet behind surreal phrases, portraits two people, Lorca and Dali, for whom love is to escape from the nightmare world. This gay love for them is their subjective paradise metaphysical dimension. Not the mirror reflected but Lorca's escape from rotting dehumanized dying world, disappointment by external industrial world . He went as well into the Left wing. Lorca's poetry is a dreamy stream of the movie.
Lorca's drama pieces present in this movie are some semi philosophical discourse, for Lorca the theater is no ferry tale is not another storyline and history, there is no barrier between Lorca's life, his thoughts on his theater, and the theater as a genre. Art is to be critical of the establishment, anticipating what awaits the Spaniards, the long-term civil war and fascism. For Lorca art is more important than life, that is the attitude of courageous and romantic. The case of homosexuality is not a private matter for Lorca, he is full of courage and romanticism. In the drama The Audience,
Shakespearian Julia is played by a young man, and several forms of male nude occur, only dared to Alexi Carpentieri to fully graphic nudity. Kubiak Malga cinema shows, once again a bold scene 4.30 min sex. Crafted sound enhances the realism of the scene. Alvaro Ovalle as Federico Garcia Lorca is perfectly matched, he is a beautiful, sensual, delicate, dynamic, and above all authentic. Alexi Carpentieri his partner, who plays Salvador Dali has a huge sexual strength and boldness in scenes of love is a reflection of his full coxcombs spontaneity with which interprets silhouette aptly played the hero; without a trace celebrity. Salvador Dali is a magnificent beast here! Bold cinema that provokes its very radical, Bunuelian move is the director's mother dead is queen again.
Everyone knows the death of Garcia Lorca. Fascizm, phalanx is cruel, but movies on the subject open my views. The execution's scene Malga Kubiak created as the theater of the absurd. First the grotesque and later the entire cruelty. The dying is not shown only as pathos. It was revenge for being gay and pleasure instead of a task it was cruel pain. That which gave him joy and torment became an end. I have also censor myself because I stop saying the torturer scored his anus simply. Jessica Berntson abusive she played great as Lorca holder, unveiled the perversions of this act.
Alvaro Ovalle as Fedrico Garcia Lorca is a great actor, his interpretation is so strong that I feel the tragedy, the pain of death; I forgot that this is the movie going on and dashed into the world of FGL. The scene of death is the crown of his brilliant interpretation as a whole Garcia Lorca Fedrico.
The last scene of the movie knocks the beauty and shrugs, Salvador painted on Federico's face death mask, singing him a lullaby on the road, worships and loves it.
Archival material of Black Thursday events in NYC 1929, simultaneous with the living room. Optical assembly polyphony.
...fascism born in the Axis countries, film shows Musolini, Hitler marching for train, Franco, excerpts of Civil War in Spain.
The music is rich, dominant. Zbigniew Karkowski noise Voltage procession's leitmotiv-en. Music has fully integral role. Mattias Enberg drummer, composer, Hanna Chawki Surreal Lovers rock-band and Derrick Walker, Mr. Spoon, jazzmen, Yohei Furuki, DJ Silver Fox's.
