Futureworld (1976)

Underrated
12 April 2019
Let's not forget, this was produced in 1976. Elaborate sets and respectable special effects! I urge anyone to take another look. Some of the earliest 3D computer generated renderings I've seen in film. Story wasn't bad and neither was the acting. Decent action and I appreciated the musical scoring as well. Forgotten gem from my humble perspective.

Pretty Entertaining, but the Rip off is of Star Blazers, not Stat Wars
8 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I find more incidents of borrowing from Star Blazers than Star Wars, and this makes sense since Star Blazers (Yamato anime movies) is a product of Japan from a few years earlier. Gavinas vs. Gamilas, planetary space station vs. white comet, blowing up the moon, mission to blow up station reactor, not destroying earth because of its beauty, wanting unconditional surrender, ships, uniforms, gun designs. More taken from the Comet Empire or Be Forever Yamato specifically. Regardless of the 'borrowing' or inspiration, I enjoyed it and being a huge Star Blazers fan, this might be precisely why I did. Vic Morroe was brilliant in everything he did.
