Switched (2020)
I Loved this one...
I spend a lot of time watching movies that aren't that great for positive growth within so this one hits a bit different. That's precisely what makes it so great. That's exactly what made me enjoy it so much as well. There's a good obvious message in this one and definitely gives you some insight on just how you might treating others in your own life whether you're younger or older, we can all be better for others and ourselves and this movie does a great job at getting that point across. Loved the cast. They all did great jobs on giving us a genuinely good sight of things in anothers prospective. It's always neat to see movies set in or actually filmed where you're from so that was pretty cool too!
Drive Hard: The Maloof Way (2022)
It's about time..
You can't help but to love this family. They're funny, talented and fast. And they definitely know how to drive!! You may be used to the other "car" shows that has a, beep, beep, beep, every other word but not these guys. They keep it clean. Love it!!
It's nice to see Netflix finally adding more car related content that is clean especially. The only trans your seeing here is one in the car! Watch it!
Ignore the other useless comments, their just used to typical trash on other channels that are staged
This family seems like genuinely good people that play fair and don't talk trash and that's a real winner any day.
The Bubble (2022)
Don't be a Snow Flake. Expect a Satire because that's what it is.
Bad reviews of this are from the " too sensitive" This movie is funny. Unless you're one of those people that can't find humor in life's bad situations. If so, don't watch it. It will offend you somehow or another, probably like Little House on the Prairie would. Otherwise expect a Satire because that's what it is and you will enjoy it. It's good. It's funny. You will laugh. Apatow is a funny guy and doesn't fail to deliver some good laughs even over the thing the world lost its mind over. Enjoy!
Love Is Blind (2020)
One of the worst things I've ever seen, ever.
This has got to be one of worst shows I've ever seen. There is no way any of this is true of course, but the "couples" are very bad actors and do an absolute terrible job as making you believe a teenie, tiny little, bit "maybe this craziness is real" I'm considering canceling Netflix because they aired something so pathetic. Run from this garbage of a show.
Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (2022)
I don't even like sports...
But this show is sooo GOOD!
I've been a fan of John C Reilly since the "Shake n Bake" days and he never fails to deliver some laughs. Jason Clarke does the same as the "angry coach"! Not usually a fan of the vintage effects, but I actually think it adds even more to the quality of this show. Too bad there won't be more than 10 episodes!
The Wedding Trip (2021)
Watch this! It's actually very good!
Not sure what's with these bad reviews, but they must have watch something other than this movie!
It's actually really good. It's funny. It kept me interested and entertained pretty much from beginning to end. It's up to par with any other light romantic comedy if you give it a chance. It's not from a billion dollar studio with million dollar mega stars, but these leads definitely have potential. Who knows, they could next! I'm looking forward to more of them for sure!!
Admittedly, some of the co stars may not be as experienced, doesn't mean bad, but it may be obvious to some. The production does not seem low budget, actors don't seem it either. All around it's definitely a good watch and very well done. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!
Dave Chappelle: The Closer (2021)
Saved the worst for last, not funny!
Watched him since the 90s. He was always funny and you couldn't expect anything less. Seems for many years now, he's turned his shows into a platform about political issues, his opinions of them and less jokes. As long as we keep hammering into the minds of people, the actions of our ancestors along with many other issues we deal with in our country, the more it's going to help keep that division and those issues alive.
Unfortunately Chappelle doesn't seem to want to stop it either. Of course he's making his living from it too. He should probably think about how people watch comedy to laugh, to escape the issues of the world, to have a good times, not be reminded of what they're trying to escape even if only for an hour or so. Leave the politics out and tell jokes. This special is really not that funny. He definitely saved his last special for the worst.
Free Guy (2021)
There's not too many like this one...
There's only been a handful of movies that makes you feel good like this one does. A true, leaves _ you _ feeling _ good, type of movie that you just don't want to end. It's funny. It's exciting. It's a terrific escape to a different type of reality that draws you in and keeps you on the edge. And of course Ryan Reynolds & Jodie Comer do an absolute excellent job playing their roles and making their connection come to life!
Benchwarmers 2: Breaking Balls (2019)
Expected a "goofy" comedy and it delivered!
Seems a lot of the people leaving bad reviews either hadn't watched a trailer prior or expected an Academy Award winning movie. Is it terrible? No, not at all. It's a decent "goofy" movie with some good laughs. And maybe a nice message behind it.
If you know Jon Lovitz then you likely know what I mean when I say "goofy" type movies. He's here doing what he does best. He always brings the laughs! Chris klein plays his roles perfectly of course. This is no exception. Seems this guy doesn't age either!!
If you like the "silly" or "goofy" type movies, this might be a good one for you. At least give it a shot, but do keep your expectations realistic and you may really enjoy!
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003)
David Spade is definitely underrated.
I've always liked David Spade & his movies, but only in the last few years have I taken more notice of him, by himself. ( go check his NF movies out ) Even though he's mixed in with the Adam Sandler movie gang, he definitely stands out with his own unique sense of humor. He's a funny guy, no doubt... I'm not sure how I've never seen this one, after all these years especially, but I'm glad I watched it. It's a mixture of funny & serious at times, and it has that makes you feel good story that leaves you wanting more. The kind of movie that makes you wish it was longer. Check it out!
The Stand In (2020)
Watch it then decide. It's a good movie.
Seems dark comedy is misunderstood, a lot. It's not a super giggle field romantic comedy you may have come expecting. Don't expect that. And you will like this movie. It's good. Watch it. Enjoy!
CHIPS (2017)
Hilarious!
I've seen this movie, with different people, over the last few years probably 4/5 times and I still crack up watching it! Michael Pena is definitely a funny guy. Dax Shepard did a fantastic job writing and directing!
It's not like this show from the 80s, that is more serious. This is definitely not, so don't expect that! Do expect some laughs with this one though!!!
Irresistible (2020)
Check this one out, even if you aren't into politics...
As much as I don't care for Jon Stewart or politics, he did a great job writing and directing this movie. A nice mix of comedy and a little drama. Definitely had some lol moments.
I think if you like Steve Carell and Rose Byrne or just comedy in general, you'll enjoy this one. Check it out!
The King of Staten Island (2020)
More than meets the eye
Pete nails this on screen real-life character with ease. A nice mix of comedy and drama, but not overly done. Personally I found it more funny than not, but there's a real story with a heartfelt meaning behind it. It's worth every minute. I hope this is the one that catapults Pete to the "Big time" with all he's had to deal with, he deserves it. Do not miss this great movie.
Uncut Gems (2019)
One of Sandlers best
Adam Sandler nails this character with ease. Comedy will always be my favorite from him, but he can definitely make a dramatic character shine. Uncut Gems is a gem in itself. It keeps you on your toes and in the moment with a little comedy to boot. Definitely put this one on your short list!
Dolemite Is My Name (2019)
Eddie does it again
One of my best childhood memories is Eddie Murphy - Raw. I still laugh at it 30 something years later. Eddie is still bringing the laughs today. He nails the Dolemite character like no one else probably could. It was nice to learn a little history of how Dolemite didn't give up when no one would give him a chance. If you're a Murphy or Dolomite fan, definitely check it out, I think you'll enjoy!
Nikki Glaser: Bangin' (2019)
Skip this one...
Nikki has been typically funny in most things I've seen her in, but this one is far from funny. I couldn't make it past the first 20 mins which was filled with unfunny, same as the rest of the need to get some, female comics, reaching for laughs. Skip this one, it's a waste.
Ready or Not (2019)
Definitely check this one out!
I saw the preview during another movie and thought this was a horror movie. During the first few minutes I I quickly realized it was a comedy horror. Nice surprise for me because I am typically not a horror fan. This definitely helps keep it interesting and funny. Not hilarious but it's not supposed to be. The blood and gore keeps it horror for sure. Samara Weaving absolutely killed it. I mean she really makes you believe what you're seeing is really happening to her, fantastic acting!
Good Boys (2019)
Don't believe the hype...
I've seen previews and interviews and more hyping this movie up as "90 minutes of pure laughter" not hardly. At most 5 solid minutes of laughter. I really wanted this movie to be funny. I just couldn't find it.
The Great Hack (2019)
Another way to sway your opinion against Trump.
Seems this documentary is not so focused on helping people understand how their data is used and protecting themselves as much as it is accusing Trump of doing something wrong. They're using this so called documentary to do exactly what they accuse Trump of doing - using your data to target you to change your opinion to what they want you to think.
