El Camino: A Jessie Pinkman movie
11 October 2019
It would work great as an extended episode. Very similar to Bandersnatch for Black Mirror in that way. But since it's a solo movie, I expected a little bit more of depth and development. This is coming from a huge Breaking Bad fan, so the rating sums up my "expectation vs. reality" situation. The cinematography and soundtrack blew me away, nonetheless. I still got a feeling this is not the end for Breaking Bad "universe".

Great idea executed perfectly!
11 October 2019
A new and different approach to classic interviews. At first, an idea of eating chicken wings with hot sauce during an interview on Youtube doesn't sound revolutionary, but I think it's truly a innovative way of doing it. Add one of the best interviewers around on stage along with extremely well selected guests every episode, and you get a show that has grown well over it's own limits. I hope they stay on Youtube though, since it feels right for the show.

Good slasher, but not convincing enough
13 December 2016
Not really the best of slasher films, but considering it as one of Stephen King's works, this had to be a bad transition from a novel to the screen. Typical horror flick; music, plot and acting are pretty much the same as in other similar films of that time. It gives you chills on occasion, but there is not enough excitement as in other slashers. Leading up to the kills are shot perfectly, no arguments here. It is kind of creepy; there are kids doing the killings, that is always a bit more scary. Field of corn adds the thrill, but if you don't consider music one of the prime elements, it's just not good enough to be compared with other classics of the genre. I would say that soundtrack is my favorite part of it, as in many other similar films. Story just doesn't convince me to love it.

You should still watch it though, it's a must-see for classic-slasher lovers.

Classic mystery with a big pinch of weird
13 December 2016
A classic mystery film, which confronts two very different (religious) cults. Weirdness kicks in at times so it may be too much to handle for viewers who are not used to that kind of films. It really does leave you uncertain until the very end, and that is the beauty of it. The actors are also outstanding, giving you reasons to believe this is real. Landscape does its work, so the visuals of the film are undeniably stunning. Definitely not a horror film though, so do not expect jump scares. Personally, i think songs used to build up the scenes are serving their purpose, they are unexpectedly well timed. You definitely have to understand the story to know what is going on, which is not that simple, but it is worth it! Watch until the end!

Emotional wonder
30 July 2016
The film brings to life some of the most well written characters and scenes in 2010's, making it a favorite amongst filmophiles. Emotional charge throughout the film is summed up perfectly by chemistry between the actress'(!!!), which really is phenomenal. To be able to show this disgraceful part of our (American) history and put it into drama that outgrows its genre (with comic additions) is something not many filmmakers did. So many emotions and shocks are served, that you really wish it to be fictional. The sad part is, this really happened not so long ago. Fascinating as it may seem, realness of the situation makes a film soulfull and even better. Connection between characters and viewers are "awarded" with real explosions of emotions; that just shows what masterpiece this motion picture really is, standing from a viewer, that can connect perfectly with "the help".

Maybe, I will find myself writing another review of the film, but certainly after I read the book, which, as I learned, has to be even better like in every other book-to-screen adaptation. If this is possible...

The Most Realistic Comedy of All Time
5 April 2015
If you like "tragicomedies" and dramas within comedies, then this film is just made for you. The portrayal of all the characters is stereotypical to every detail and line. How to turn boring and unattractive everyday Serbian life and landscape of Serbia at the time of II. world war to what it came out on the film is spectacular. Even though, most actors were well known and respected in former Yugoslavia and beyond, their parts in this film were re-emerging for them. There are a few times you can easily forget that they are in fact, acting, they are that good! To give this amazing cast that screenplay and a great director, you know you are making a hit. The storyline is beyond the wildest imagination. When you stop laughing because of one scene, there is another one unexpectedly kicking right in again. It all comes clear at the end, but don't miss even a second of the film or you will regret doing so. Considering hard life in Serbia, films there have similar stories, but each and every one of them is told differently through every film. I can't forget the amazing (!!!) soundtrack that follows every "breaking point" in the film. Well thought through in every aspect, this film can easily be one of the best dark comedies of all time and surely one of the best Yugoslavian films in history.

// There are so many more great similar Yugoslavian black comedies you should check out, like: Maratonci trce pocasni krug (1982), Balkanski spijun (1984, ... //
