Chef (2014)
Such a delicious movie
This is a very feel-good film to watch. To begin with, it is motivational and optimistic and teaches you that if you work hard you will achieve everything you want in your life, as long as you want it with all your heart. It has a good sense of humor, too. I loved the soundtrack as well as the music in the whole film, it travels you to the places they travel too. What they cook and they taste can also help you travel. Finally, it is a very entertaining film and I would recommend this to everybody.
p.s. It would be better to watch it after you have enjoyed a really good meal because it is such a delicious film. haha
La vita è bella (1997)
No words can be used to explain this film
Oh, this is for sure one of the most touching films I've ever watched... It is unbelievable how parental love, imagination, humor and childhood innocence are all mixed and presented in this astonishing film. Although, the soundtrack and the music are awesome. It would be a mistake not to mention the great interpretation of Roberto Benigni as well as his son (Giorgio Cantarini) and wife's (Nicoletta Braschi) great interpretation. I totally recommend it to everyone because after all it is an aspiring, hopeful and optimistic film and in my opinion it teaches you to be strong and courageous even when things are going absolutely wrong.
Whiplash (2014)
An aspiring/must-watch film!
To begin with, the interpretation of J.K. Simmon's as well as Miles Teller's was astonishing. Moreover, the scenario made me hold my breath until the last minute of the film! It was original and so aspiring. Furthermore, it is an absolutely aspiring and encouraging film that everybody must see.It gives you strength and teaches you that if you really work and focus on something you want to achieve, you will achieve it and your hard work will be rewarded! Finally, the soundtrack and the music during the film is great and it gave me the opportunity to look for further information and learn about jazz music and its musicians.
Boyhood (2014)
Absolutely descriptive film about family and raising children
First of all, the unique and extraordinary characteristic of this film is that it "follows" the growing up of the leading actor, Mason, as well as the other actors' lives. Some people may find this film disappointing, saying that it's about nothing and nothing happens. But this film is about LIFE as it is! About the unbelievable difficulties of a single-divorced mother trying to raise her children while trying to achieve her personal ambitions, about the adultness, about relationships and family. Watching this movie, I understood more the inside of the parents, their justified stress and anxieties, their huge responsibilities that I couldn't see so clear before! Ι didn't regret for watching this film and I recommend it to everyone who wants to get into and understand the family relationships and difficulties.
Schindler's List (1993)
A real masterpiece war history
Although I had heard and read some of the best reviews for this movie, I have to admit that, initially, the first hour of this film seemed boring to me. Then I realized that the facts on that part of the film had to be referred so that we can understand and connect right the facts of the entire story. The interpretation of the main characters was of course astonishing. The murders and executions of the German Nazi were just as they had to be, not fake or incorrect. The finishing of the film was one of the best parts or scenes as the reality meets the directed. It is surely one of the greatest films in the history of the cinema and everyone should watch this because humanity, honesty and justice are honored.
Frida (2002)
A must see movie!
The cast was very good, the costumes were wonderful! It is a great movie, biography of Frida Kahlo and has much to offer. It is a true story of passion, pain, strength, courage and above all unstoppable and unselfish love. One can learn facts of Frida Kahlo's life and talent as well as get known with Frida's paintings and their history, something very important. Moreover after seeing this movie I was "stimulated" to look for more things about Frida and other painters. I vote with 8 just because I want to see the movie again to clarify some historical and political facts that I am not so sure about. Generally, it is an absolutely worth-seeing movie and I highly recommend it to everyone.
Good People (2014)
not recommendable
Watching the trailer, the movie seems very promising, it had a lot of potential. However I evaluate it as so-so. The cast was good and there were some well done and imaginative killings particularly at the middle to the end of the movie. But the whole movie was kind of complicated. Some facts weren't clear to understand and some absurd scenes were just to serve the plot. At last, there wasn't anything new and it had nothing to offer, except of so little action as to justify the classification of the movie to an action-thriller movie. Unfortunately, I think that the time I spent to watch the film was a waste of time and I wouldn't recommend it.
Annabelle (2014)
Not satisfied
Annabelle as a character and of course by appearance is very scary and the cast was satisfying. The sound of the cinema made it scarier and I wouldn't expect to feel so terrified if I had to watch it at home. During the movie I was really scared only three or four times and that was all. Classical story of a thriller. In addition, the trailer revealed many things about the movie, so I knew what was going to happen in some crucial parts of the movie just by having watched the trailer. This fact was very disappointing. Generally I expected much more fear from this movie and I was not as satisfied as I thought I would be.
