OMG: Oh My God! (2012)
One of the Best Movies
You can hate this movie you can love this movie but you cannot be indifferent. One of the master pieces of Paresh Rawal but hats off to the writer the Australian one! Its a unique take on faith and how people deal with it but majority of the credit should be give to the people who thought of it. Yet there is some credit to the writers adapting it to Indian audience.
I watched the Australian version after this one!
Ehd-e-Wafa (2019)
If you are expecting Alpha Bravo Charlie you would be disappointed
The drama enjoys a unique setting and comes with huge expectations. While some characters are a stand out others are not so impressive.
Although many episodes of the drama have gone by the story doesn't seem to pick up. Theres a alot of things happening but nothing concrete or focused which i think is the major reason for the drama series to miss its mark.
When you go with the ISPR co-production people expect more army stuff more than just one of the storylines.
Malik Shahzain storyline is mundane and typical to any other drama series out there. Although zara noor makes parts of it lighten up.
The other two storylines are just too uneventful that it seems that the characters have not been worked upon much.
In short there is alot going on but it could have been improved much more with better and more focused storyline.
Sacch (2019)
Honest Review (Unpaid)..."Paisa Zaya"
Right from the start Ayesha Sana's expressionless acting and the flat plot hit me hard. Even before the Name of the movie popped up (2-5min into the movie) i knew "Ho gaya zaya 1500"
You might have heard of love at first sight but have you heard of love by a scarf. Thats how Asad gets attracted to Elysee. The trio of attraction is contructed on a scarf and a dance (which was not a good one either).
Dailouges of the movie are a super miss our lowest rated dramas are written with better dialouges. I think the flat plot got the better of Haseena gee.
Romantic movie masalas were also short or missing, It needed one or two more "stunning location" songs, a comedian and intimacy. With intimacy i dont intend to make it less of a family movie but the chemistry, the attraction, the magic was missing between Asad and Elysee.
Even being generous I would rate the acting skills as 4 out of 10 of the new lot (the love trio). Javed sheikh's acting was as usual better then the lot but what could he have done!
Visually the actors were also somewhat under par, Asad Zaman's hard cut face may have been useful in thrillers or action movies but not for romance. Humayoun Ashraf's looks were pulled down a great deal by the wadrobe. Elyesee well.....too each his own.
Locations; dont get me started on that. The movie is advertised as "a visual extravaganza" but all you can see are poor camera shots wasting a beautiful country and i cant remember any castle shots either.
All in All thumbs down.
(My review is for the betterment of the Pakistani Movie industry and not to ridicule or discourage any of the people involved in the movie)
Chhalawa (2019)
I want the ticket refund and some more !!
This i my first review of a Pakistani Movie but i will try to be as critical as a novice can be.
First the good parts; Shiraz Uppel hands down a great job. Really good music. Chhalawa title song was on of the reasons i watched the movie. It was catchy!!
Acting of Mehwish Hayat and Mehmood Aslam is acceptable.(bearly)
Zara Noor is someone that has however, stood out. Her character "Haya" was also the only character that could be seen as developed. Zara's acting was spot on and where ever the script allowed she could outshine. She is the only character that made me chuckle (only emotion that came may be twice or thrice on my face in the entire movie!)
Now about the bad parts or should i say the entire movie. Storyline, dialogues, Direction (Google auto corrected to directionless...i tend to agree with that). The writters need creative writing lessons. A story has to have some flow a start, middle and end atleast. To say the story didn't had that flow would still be an understatement.
The storyline and direction was so off, i ended up wondering if they even watched the movie after they had put it together. The director must have been sleeping when the final cut paste and patch it up was done.
One after another the scenes made no sense and then there were songs dropping by for no reason at all.
In the final scenes i spent time re-arranging the movie and found it (re arranged version) much more appealing when the product which was presented.
I believe mehwish and mehmood aslam should have withdrawn their names after seeing the script. Theire characters lacked any depth and were One dimensional and underdeveloped right from the start till the end.
Other actors made no effort of putting forward a good show.
All in All a movie to avoid.
