A diegetic musical in the vein of "Once" or "A Star Is Born," where all of the musical numbers are organic because the lead characters are musicians; cleverly executed on a small budget as a series of stripped-down music video style performances throughout the film. The original songs are all quite good and a few are bona fide earworms that I immediately looked up on Spotify.
The two leads (Omar Maskati and Malia Aiello) have great chemistry and writer/director Kahlil Maskati is more focused on posing big questions about legacy, purpose, and creative expression than simply delivering laughs or romcom hijinks - to the film's benefit!
