Dark Town (2004)
Godawful movie in every sense.
Its a good thing my dad rented this for free, or Id storm my local Hollywood Video and demand a refund. I knew it was a B movie just by looking at the name and the cover. Now, I love all movies, I do. I even have a small soft spot for Manos Hands of Fate (the MST3K version!). But this was so horrible, I turned off the DVD player when the crazy vampiric father decided to try and change his lesbian daughter.
At first, I thought, hey, maybe this will be a GOOD B movie. After I saw the gangsters and lesbians though, I knew it was already down the toilet.
As a vampire movie, its bad and just caters to people who like watching bloody messes (not that I don't, but geez, the vampire effects were horrible!) or little Goth kids who think every vampire movie should win an Oscar.
As a piece of cinema, its just a downright shame. The acting was barely mediocre (to be expected from a B movie I know...but I hate those screams. So unreal and hollow of real terror). The lighting was too dark and the way the flashbacks were shot, I didn't really get any of it. All I got was that they all share memories or something. Like I said, I didn't watch the entire movie, but I'm sure it got worse. Plus those flashbacks gave me a headache.
