Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009)
9/10
BSG is simply the best TV show in years!!!
1 November 2005
Not since the X-Files or the Sopranos has a show been as realistic, gripping, human, touching and so damn funny...Battlestar Galactica has some of the most intelligently written scripts not only in sci fi shows but in any show, it can be touching and funny one minute then be repulsive and shocking the next yet never boring. BSG is Star Trek if it were produced by military and combat aficionado's who obsess over protocol and hardware in a post 9/11 world, yet in BSG, the show never forgets its human side and that is what makes it so special. It's been about 10 years since Space: Above & Beyond was cancelled and I never thought in my wildest TV fantasy that the excitement and military drama/sci fi mix of that show would be duplicated let alone surpassed, yet here it is! If you're looking for a smart, brutal, sexy, funny show, then it's hard to surpass BSG... I'm in the Philippines and unfortunately there is no frackin' Sci Fi channel here, so my thanks to Mr. Bram Cohen.

Profit (1996–1997)
8/10
the most unique, brutal and best TV show in recent years
3 April 2005
I have seen this show when I was about 14 and absolutely loved it. Jim Profit is perhaps the most brutal yet extremely likable psychopath in television history, and he's the lead!!! It is unfortunate that the show was cancelled perhaps because the premise and the show's intelligence never appealed to people back in 1996. The Profit DVD is coming out in August 2005 and I've never been more excited over a DVD release since the X-Files sets. I have watched this show in a cranky 14 inch set over aerial antennae when I was a kid and have been looking for this show for years and now it's comin' out! Do yourself a favor and check this one out...
