Drive-Away Dolls (2024)
Lesbian dyke bar nostalgia at its finest
Not your typical Coen film. Just saying that now. If you're wanting a Coen brothers flick - this is NOT it. It was full of lesbian sexual liberation and a pleasant nod to the dyke bar scene of the 1990s. I loved the raunchy style and the over-the-top slapstick comedy. If you ain't here for it, stay home.
I went knowing it wasn't in the mold of a Coen Brother's film. I was pleasantly surprised by actors and how they made every situation about sex. Seriously. The amount of raunch with women being the focal point was ridiculous and something you just don't see in the mainstream. If you're a queer gal, you'll have fun with this one.
Captain Sensitivity (2019)
Hilarious, Charming and Relatable
This episode for this new series had me laughing out. John Solo is a brilliantly-timed comedic actor and this story captures such a relatable topic for people going through hard times, especially a break up. When we live in a world where we are trying to combat toxic masculinity, Solo and his story encompasses a male with emotions and projects them out. It really was something that was well written, well directed, well shot and well acted.
