Worst movie of the year!
15 March 2022
This movie was excruciating to watch. It was so plodding and ridiculous that I thought surely no one will take this movie seriously. I love the cast and have enjoyed Jane Campion's prior work, but that wasn't enough to redeem this movie. The fact that it is winning a bunch of awards just goes to demonstrate how far Hollywood is removed from the average movie goer. This is another example of Hollywood fawning over something just because of its political or social narrative and their desire to appear concerned about it. If it wins the Oscar it truly will confirm that award's complete disconnection from the film goers in this country and confirm its utter irrelevance.

Grisly disposal of dead body
28 April 2019
Viewers be warned. There is probably one of the most gruesome depictions of the disposal of a dead body that I have ever seen or heard. We had to mute the tv as well as look away. We are not overly squeamish and have watched numerous shows and movies with lots of violence and gore, but this was on another level. It was completely gratuitous. You get the idea of what they are going to have to do with the body, but they literally went step by step, body part by body part and it was totally unnecessary. Just my opinion, but wanted to give others the heads up that they may want to fast forward or mute their tv's when both Elizabeth and Phillip are in the hotel room together with a suitcase.
