Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)
Didn't feel like a James Wan movie. Ruined by DC
I have to say that I had high hopes for this movie, since it's the same director (James Wan) who did a great job in the first Aquaman movie. But in my opinion, I think few technical things made this movie terrible. The movie felt it was handed from a director to another. It was so obvious the movie ran into so many reshoots and re-writing. The scenes where they tried so much to shadow Amber (because we all know why) were very terribly edited. There were a couple of scenes with slow-motion that looked like a scene from the 80s, that's not James Wan style, those were also terribly edited.
Overall, the movie felt so rushed and so inconsistent. One last thing, is that I think this movie was first 2:30 but DC wanted it to be 2hrs. So again, DC single handedly ruin their movies.. Overall if those technicalities were addressed, we would have seen an above average movie regardless of the weak writing.
In the positive side, a few fighting/chasing scenes looked awesome, definitely were James Wan style.
PS: I have a feeling that we will hear an explanation from James Wan in the near future. That's not a movie he would approve of.
Vinland Saga: Dark Clouds (2023)
First time I see Thorfinn laugh?
9 stars for making Thorfinn finally laugh or even smile after nearly 37 episodes.
Also great build up of characters and events, it looks like we gonna see more fighting scenes during the second half of the season.
Thorfinn is completely different person now after episode 9, he finally engages in conversation, ask questions and even laugh.
Great introduction of the new character Gardar. Poor Einar, the love of his life is already married.
Looking forward for next episodes to see how Ketil and his two sons are going to defend their farm from the king and his army and Floki.
Big reunion is coming!
The Last Kingdom: Episode #5.7 (2022)
10/10 just for making a 40yrs old man cry like 4 months baby
Without the last 10mins, this episode is a solid 8.
The last 10mins was filmed and edited with only one purpose, to make any human being cry like a baby... and boy have they delivered!! The sequence, the editing, the sound and the flash backs.
A scene that includes a character that you may hate ( or dislike ) with the ability to make you cry, is a scene that was well done and that is an understatement. What is even genius, that in the middle of your weep, a twist comes along that makes you scream, swear, and even cry more.
TLK, as always, never fails to prove that it's one of the best shows out there.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #5.5 (2022)
A plot at its finest!
The plot by Aethelhelm to start a war with all its events happening in one episode resulting a roller coaster of emotions leaving you at the edge of your seat is just pure perfection.
One of the finest and hardest episodes to watch, very sad and stressful. And that what has always made TLK one of the best shows ever on TV.
It looks like things are going to get crazy "literally, if you watched the last scene " from now on.
Shingeki no Kyojin: Memories of the Future (2022)
Literally Memories of the Future!
This is the biggest twist in the show so far, also the one of the best twists on TV. Again new awesome music, the VOA nailed it again.. the emotions and tension of this episode remind of episode s3e18 Midnight Sun which was one of the best episodes with zero action scene. Just mind-blowing.
Also if you remember this episode finally and brilliantly explains the scene between Eren Kruger and Grisha in s3e21, when Kruger tells Grisha " To save Mikasa, Armin and everyone else, you must see it through "
The Blacklist: Captain Kidd (No. 96) (2021)
All hail James Spader
Regardless of how bad this show was this season, watching James Spader as Raymond Reddington is a delight in every episode. And in this episode, his scene with Cooper shows how a brilliant actor he is. You can clearly see his struggle and fear of Cooper's life and the tough situation he is in, unlike his usual conversations where he shows absolute confidence.
Also on another note, though signs point to "Keen's absence" being creatively-driven as apposed to larger controversy "viewers demand" I think her days in the show are numbered.
WandaVision: The Series Finale (2021)
Great Finale! 2 Qs that we demand answer for
A movie quality season finale, great CGI, great acting, emotional ending and amazing sound track.. Just everything you want to see in a Marvel ending.
Things we will be looking for : Wanda's upgraded/hidden powers. Monica's new powers and her role in the mcu.
Two questions that we demand answers for : Where did white Vision go? And who in the world is Ralph??
Monster Hunter (2020)
Way above expectation!
Don't listen to the bad reviews, This movie was waaaay above expectation. It is a fun wild action packed ride from the beginning to the end. I went to the theater thinking I'll watch another cheesy Resident Evil movie with bad CGI, but no the CGI were fantastic. Alot of really good action scenes and some other intense scenes. I didn't even know this is based on a game, but I heard the game fans loved it. Monster movie fans even loved it more. You will not regret watching this on the big screen, trust me!
Warrior: Not for a Drink, a F*ck, or a G**damn Prayer (2020)
Great Intense Episode!!
Wow that was a really really good episode, very intense and emotional. It was a great mix of everything; action, intense, drama and character development.
This episode has a lot of connections and character development for a lot of the main characters; Ah Sahm, Ah Toy, Mai Ling, Li Yong and oh my favorite Chao. I grew even more fond of Chao and Li Yong.
It has also great and intense fighting scenes.. I don't want to spoil anything but that was a really great, fun and intense episode to watch that I really loved.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #3.5 (2018)
The tears, the tension, the performance and the soundtrack
This show is getting better and better!
This episode is on of the greatest.. very high level of tension with amazing performance. The soundtrack towards the end of the episode was amazing.
On a side note : what I also love about this show is the conflict of some characters, they act and respond to events in a way that aligns within thier character development but yet keep surprising you in a predicted way. Yes I said predicted. You expect it in a way or another yet when it happens it happens in a way that blows your mind. I wouldn't be able to explain it in one review but if you have watched this great show so far up to this episode, you would understand what I mean. Example of character development, Alfred, Brida and Uhtred
I cannot wait to see what destiny hides for Uhtred. DESTINY IS ALL!
The Last Kingdom: Episode #2.4 (2017)
Why haven't I heard of this show before?!! Epic!
This is one of the best episodes I have seen on TV. Action, intense, character development, dialog and writing. Everything is just amazing. I was literally on the edge of my couch the whole time cheering and clapping 👏 .. even standing ovation at some point.
The relationship and dynamic between Uhtred and his brother Ragnar is something you want to see every minute in every episode of this epic show.
The pace and turn of events must be taught in the TV industry.. it is like watching a movie. So many things happening in one episode and you can never guess what is going to happen next.
I really really wonder why haven't I heard of this show before? There are so many episodes that looks like a season finale, or series finale like this one but there are always many epic turn of events that takes you to a whole new journey yet even more exciting.
Well done for everyone involved in this show... Well done 👏
