The Witcher (2019)
Season 2 shouls be the final season
I did not read the books or play the games before watching it, although I watched my GF play it a bit (she read the books too) and she was going on and on about the epic story, Geralt, other major characters and such. So naturally we both wanted to watch it when it came out, which we did. She was immensely disappointed about the show because it changed too much for the worse, and gave too little depth. For me the show was just mediocre and I was not bothered too much by it.
I just recently got some time off work and decided to play Witcher 3, which is easily in my top 3 games of all time now. The biggest butcher around is not Gerat, the butcher of Blaviken, but the show runners. They shattered the story into bits and pieces and molded it back into something that is pure sh. I honestly hope that season 2 will be the final one for the sake of us viewers and the story authenticity.
By the way, Witcher 3 has 13 hours of cutscenes that are immeasurably better than anything you might see here. I strongly recommend you to ignore the show, the sooner it is done the better.
All in all bad storywriting. The fact that people who played the game/read the books dont like the show but think "maybe it is for a general audience and I should not look into the inconsistencies" and that people who never played or read Witcher think "maybe it is for avid fans since I dont understand ehat the hell is going on" should show us that it does not suit anybody.
Incendies (2010)
A more fitting title: Incesties
MAJOR SPOILER
The movie was solid, not very memorable until the end. A plot twist at the end made me laugh so much that I found it fascinating that someone would make such a horrible decision in ending this heartfelt story. It was unnecessary, no positive emotional reaction was awakened in me. It's not that my disgust towards incest makes this review so negative, it's just that it was really really really unnecessary. The ending, simply put, was unbelievable - and not in a good way. A high quality movie, with a high quality plot, ended like a parody of itself.
Fast & Furious 7 (2015)
A racing franchise that ended as Sci-Fi
The whole movie franchise of Fast and Furious is probably one of the most memorable ones. However, as it is nearing the end, the franchise is becoming nothing more than a Science Fiction cliché.
In this specific movie the whole plot is based on both lack of common sense and bad physics. Nearly every stunt and every piece of action was not supported by the right laws of physics. The illogical plot made me feel a bit stupid. At one point I felt like I was watching a Marvel movie, something like The Avengers. This wouldn't be so bad if it were for cars racing on the streets, you know, the thing that we all fell in love with.
On the other hand, this particular movie contains a witty atmosphere, something I've not really felt while watching the previous parts. The acting is great, as you would expect, the portrayed characters felt like having real-life emotions which is pretty rare in a purely action movie.
All in all I give this movie a 5/10. This might be harsh due to my love for physics. The only downside is the lack of logic. If you're a fan of the previous parts go ahead and watch this movie that ended with a heart melting scene. It is worth a watch.
