The Walking Dead: Dead City: Old Acquaintances (2023)
A hopeful new beginning
Although I still do have concerns on the future of twd franchise, Dead City is an impressive entry to the franchise which left me excited after seeing the first two episodes. Dead City offers great performences by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan and stunning cinematography. My biggest concern going in was that the show was going to force the two into a relationship but it is clear after viewing that is the direction they will not be going. The show also provides interesting supporting characters while still not losing focus on it's two main stars which is another promising factor as it's flagship show sometimes stumbled with that.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
An actor in his prime.
Wow,I really had to let this film digest for a few days after seeing it. The last time I've felt this way watching a film was after seeing Joaquin Pheonixs Oscar winning performance in Joker. Nicolas Cage performance in this film was absolutely spine chilling and one I'll never forget. Another Oscar is coming his way.
The Walking Dead: Here's Negan (2021)
Lived up to the hype
An instant classic and an absolute masterpiece. Jeffery Dean Morgan and Hillarie Burton's chemistry was everything I expected and hoped for. "Here's Negan" will satisfy fans of the character who have been waiting for this episode and those who did not enjoy the previous two character centered episodes.
The Walking Dead: One More (2021)
A pleasant suprise
Rare for me to step out of the way to make a review these days but this episode was a pleasant suprise with powerful performances. The first half i thought it was going to flop then the second half was truly something special and in my opinion one of the best episodes of the season. Props to Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquard and Robert Patrick, who blew me away in this guest role.
The Witcher (2019)
A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.
I am not familiar with the books, i barley played one of the games so I cannot speak on behalf of hardcore Witcher fans, but I absolutely loved it! Very good actors and a surprisingly good first season budget that makes the show as good as it is. I've always liked Henry Cavill and had faith in him and he delivered. In my personal opinion, which I probably know others will strongly disagree, The Witcher is my favorite show Netflix produced and I like it a lot more than Stranger Things.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
A nostelgic and fitting epilogue for Jesse Pinkman.
El Camino was a treat for us Breaking Bad fans with many call backs and surprise Cameos. First things first, the opening scene with Mike was beautiful. It shows how much of an important figure Mike was to Jesse and it tells you the direction the film is going, which I absolutely loved. Another thing I absolutely loved was Jesse's phone call to his parents. One thing about BB is I always wondered what happened to them after season 3. El Camino perfectly wrapped their story with Jesse in i think what was the best way possible. The acting was amazing as expected, Aaron Paul's (possible) final performance as Jesse was a great way to end his story. However, There were some minor issues I had with this film. In the beginning Jesse's beard was way bigger than the BB finale and this took place right after. Another thing, which I'm sure everyone has issues with was how noticeable it was that Bryan Cranston was wearing a bald cap. I understand why he had to wear it as it would have spoiled his return and that the movie (which at the time was top secret) was being filmed. I also felt some flashbacks were a bit drawn out. All things said El Camino was a great treat and I'm happy we got full closure with Jesse's story.
Joker (2019)
Astonishing, chilling, terrifying. Joaquin Pheonix brings the Joker to life.
I've waited a very long time to see and review this film. Let me start off I understand the controversy around this film. This is a very intense, dark film for mature audiences. It gives you a very deep and dark look into the mind of a mentally ill man who is rejected by society and becomes a homicidal villain. Joaquin Pheonix, who in my opinion gave the greatest performance I've seen in a very, very long time, brought the Joker to life. It is so hard to word how I feel after walking out of this film. The way Joaquin portrayed this character just left me speechless. I actually was uncomfortable at moments. Without giving anything away to the plot, Joker was rollercoaster that gave me a different perspective on comic book films. The acting was absolutely amazing, the score was just WOW! Whoever composed it definitely deserves recognition. I DO NOT I repeat DO NOT believe this movie is suited for immature audiences and believe parents should not let their kids see this film until they have a mature mindset. To me this film was one of the greatest films ive seen and has entered my top 10 list. Not sure exactly where it stands yet but it is in that list for sure.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Agree or disagree this is my opinion
Movie is just too forced. The only good part was Samuel L Jackson and 90's nostalgia. Everything else felt too forced. Black Widow movie would have been 10x better.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 (2018)
Just another cash grab. Just wait for red dead 2 instead.
I'm not even gonna bother typing a review on this. All I'll say is it's the same thing as every call of duty game. Idk why I bother with this series.
