Knight Rider: Knight Rider (2008)
Cool Car; Made the Mistake of Striving For a Plot
The made for TV movie started out cool with a bunch of glamor shots of KITT and a couple of sweet car chases. Then it all went downhill. Acting poor enough to belong in... well... a bad TV movie, a plot so thin and filled with stereotypes I was predicting every facet of the movie (Whoa! The bad guys take one step too close to their would be victims and allow them to easily disarm them, instead of shooting them from ten feet away! That's a new one!), and to top it all off, a ridiculous "please oh please" begging attitude for a season culminating with the Hoff replying to the new Mike's question of "Will I see you soon" with "I hope so". I hate to disagree but I hope not.
Gorgo (1961)
Really Rather Boring
This movie is very slow and very boring. It is a stereotypical monster movie. Military fights monster, monster thought dead, monster really alive, monster comes to city, military fights it again, nothing happens to monster, city in ruins. The people in this movie were just total morons. Sure just leave the monster tied up on your ship, it wont kill anyone. Oh yeah, lets make a special compound for the monster and the untie it right outside the compound so that it can stomp around and kill people. I really didn't like how the movie ended with the beast just lumbering away with it's rescued child. Oh never mind that fact that the Tower Bridge (learned that from MST3K) and Big Ben are just gone, and never mind the thousands of people without homes and killed. Never mind the British military is now in shambles, lets just end it with it walking away happily. This movie is only good for a person who finds themselves up to late needing to watch something. As usual the MST3K version is hilarious.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Amazing
This movie finally puts Star Wars back where it belongs. Everyone knew this film would be darker and boy did it live up to that. The battle sequences are absolutely amazing over Coruscant and with 5 different lightsaber fights through the movie that makes this the fastest paced hand to hand Star Wars out of all 6. It's hard to tell where it ranks among the original trilogy but I can guarantee you it towers over Attack of the Clones and Phantom Menace. Yoda sums up all of George Lucas's feelings when skeptics were looking for another let down when he quipped "Not if anything to say about it I have". This is going to be the best movie of the summer, I am sure. The actors are actually quite good compared to Episodes I and II so that is big as well.
The Village (2004)
Night Does it Again
I have seen many bad reviews for this movie and that makes me angry. It is not Shyamalan's best, but I think it's better than Unbreakable. Also compared to any other scary stories we have nowawadays it is great. The tension literally never lets up from the credits which Shyamalan always makes intense, to the end. The love story between Lucius and Ivy is very good and adds even more tension on top. The scariness is all through it as we constantly hear the noises from the creatures and when they finally do enter the Village it is a scary scene that I will not soon forget. This movie is very emotional as well and every single actor plays their part perfectly. This movie is a definite must see for anyone who likes scary movies.
The Projected Man (1966)
I am not moving until I see Sheila in her underpants!
This is one of the worst things to ever come out of England, so that says a lot right there. The tension when we have to find out whether or not Lembach is staying is amazing though. The upside is seeing the nice secretary, Sheila, in her picnic table print underwear for awhile after being captured by Dr. Rat Face. This movie has several views of London too although none of them are good. There is also a point in which there is almost a car accident which gets your heart rate back to just below normal. There is also a watch that gets teleported away, and the fear of the woman not getting her watch back is parallel to the horror of "The Sixth Sense" only a lot more dull and British. Add on a furious gun fight between the British police and the Dr. Rat, which results in nothing, plus the electrocuting of a lot of people, plus a cat and you have yourself... ummm... A British movie. The MST3K version is pretty good although not one of there bests.
