It was cute, the usual bring a family together at Christmas. Instead of an angel or an elf it's a consultant/planner and Hasselhoff did surprisingly well. Caroline Rhea who is a great actress couldn't pull off the harried mom though, I felt like she was forced to take the roll and showed zero personality. I'll watch again

I'm American and discovered this while looking for new BBC shows. It's absolutely hysterical BUT turn your captions on, it'll take a while to figure out the accent and slang. Up until series 5 you knew the personalities and accepted that Isa is a terrible gossip, Victor/Jack best friends just have fun, Winston is miserable and Tam is the cheapest moocher ever. They all make jokes at each other's expense but in the end they're all there for each other no matter what. By S6 I believe the episodes are out of order, the fun has become mean, and I wish Tam would walk in front of a bus, he's become ridiculous with being cheap and it's not funny anymore. The writing is a little bit darker and strange. The supporting recurring characters are consistent and Navid the shop owner never disappoints. Bobby the Pub manager doesn't get many good lines and sadly is forgettable which is probably why I forgot him. Still a great show, somehow us Yanks mixed up the episodes and there's supposed to be 9 but Netflix only has 7. There are tons of live shows on YouTube that I'll look for later. Enjoy

American here, a wonderful calm show. Comparing the show to the different American versions this is so much better. The contestants are just regular people and don't look like a casting director walked into a modeling agency asking 'who likes to bake.' There's no schtick with the contestants personalities, they are who they are and production doesn't force some ridiculous image on them to carry through a season. The judges aren't yelling at anyone but giving helpful advice. I LOVE the Technical Challenge where they get scant information and figure it out. I don't think the show needs a host much less TWO hosts who don't add anything and they aren't funny at all. No offense, they're just not needed. All in all a great show, so pleasant and the natural friendliness isn't forced.

American here and was looking for something while I wait for new Doc Martin episodes. The writing is great and the delivery of the lines even better. Usually only 1 or 2 characters get the good lines but they are evenly spread out and I can't stop laughing.

Season/series 1 is just a teaser to the hysterical cast, acting and writing of series 2. I'm sad that I'll be finished in 2 days then have to wait another year.
