I was 11 when I first read Percy Jackson and the lighting thief. I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, and my mother gave me this book because some neighbor said it was good for kids like myself. To this day, one of the most influential books I've read.

I've been waiting for this series for a long time, and man it was worth the wait. 2 episodes in and you can already see the attention to detail they put into this show. The casting choices are so far great, the dialogue is excellent, and the kids they chose for Grover, Annabeth, and Percy have so far nailed their characters. It's obvious they are setting this up to do the entire series (which would be phenomenal) and the pacing is so far pretty good.

If I had a Time Machine, I'd take this show back to 11 year old me to just see the excitement on my face as my favorite character gets an amazing series like this. I'm excited to see where they take the show, and how they introduce new characters through the series like Thalia and Nico. I can only hope that this gets even a quarter of the hype as Harry Potter, but I'm just glad Percy Jackson's finally getting the screen adaptation he deserves.

It's not a great movie by any means. I did not know walking into this movie it was a remake, but I sure hope the original was better. But what this movie lacked in dialogue, acting ability, characters, it made up for in story.

The overall plot of the movie is good. I love a good low budget thriller, and that's exactly what this was. Liam Neeson had to be this movies biggest expense, because everything was shot in a Mercedes Benz (btw this movie did not make me want to buy that car). The story was not completely predictable and it had some good moments that were fun to watch in a theatre.

But that's it. Other than that, the acting is terrible. The dialogue for the first 15min of the movie felt like it was written by AI and I almost left. And every character is as bland as an off brand cereal from Walmart.

Listen, if you like Liam Neeson thrillers, go see this, but don't expect anything spectacular. It will entertain but it does not go beyond its surface level plot line.

This movie did not rely on heavy star power, crazy marketing, or over the top special effects.

It was clever, thrilling, witty, and contained complex characters with great dialogue. The plot of the movie kept you guessing the entire two hours. At no point was I bored or did I feel the pace of the movie was off.

There were a few questions I felt the plot kinda left unanswered (very minor points) but overall the movie leaves you satisfied when you exit the theatre.

The first half of the movie was incredible strong, and I was curious if they were going to be able to pull off the ending. And while it wasn't a 10/10 ending, it was the closure the viewer needed and did justice to the characters.

I didn't expect much when I started this movie. And then about 20mins in, I became hopeful. There was a lot of possibilities for this movie to become intricate and develop the chat haters and their motives.

Instead, it was a boring storyline with subpar dialogue that ultimately offered nothing cool or original to the thriller genre. Unimpressed.

The main actress did a decent job carrying the film with almost little to no help from the supporting cast. The climax of the film was utterly confusing, luckily the last scene of the film pulled it somewhat together and kept this movie from being a 1.

Just rewatch Taken and save yourself of this film.
