I saw this film recently on Turner Classics. It was a beautiful part of the wonderful past of Hollywood. Warren's great voice still haunts me. It was, as they say "mello as a cello". Real good stuff!! I have become a Warren William fan. I looked up his bio on your WEB. He made a ton of movies with all the top stars of Tinsel Town. He also made some not so good movies, but that's par for the Hollywood story. I have ordered about ten of his movie efforts and look forward with great anticipation in seeing them. Because I was not familial with him till TCM came along and presented some of his work. Sadley he died quite young at 54. Fortunattly we still have him to enjoy with the Hollwood Classics.

Another Zorro winner

This was my all-time Zorro favorite. John Litel was outstanding as the governor of California. He added that little bit of something special to this show. Of course, Zorro was the star, but Litel just made it a little bit better. What a fine actor. I have followed Mr. Litel's career for some 50 years. His performances were always his best efforts. He never disappointed his audiences. I recall the very first time I saw him on screen. It was an old B picture that was released in 1934. It was called Submarine Base. It was not much of a picture but watching him, you knew he was giving his best. I was disappointed that he was never giving more meatier parts. But I guess that's Hollywood.

Watching this brought back a flood of wonderful memories of my youth. I have an extensive collection of these old cliff hangers and I still watch them with the same great feelings as I did as a 10 year old boy. Let's show some more of these great document's. As a boy I couldn't wait till Saturday afternoon to head down to the old Amo Theater in Detroit to see if the hero got out of that burning building or the crash or near drowning. I will have a special place in my heart for the old serials. Not all of them were great but the ones that were, were super! Incidentally, in my opinion, the best years for the serials was 1939-1944. Those were the golden years! Good old Republic Pictures, they had the very best of them all.

Very poor version of a classic

Anyone who has seen the 1939 version of "The Four Feathers" will be totally disappointed with this offering. The cast does try to instill some compassion for this story of a coward show redeems himself. Very poor performances by all involved. Jane Seymore is not in the same acting performance as June Dupree. And Beau Bridges is almost amusing as Harry Faversham. Very disappointing movie. The only thing worst than this is the 2001 release. That was awful! I remember seeing the 1939 version as a small boy growing up in Detroit. This was and has always been my all time favorite movie. The color was outstanding. The battle scenes were the finest ever filmed. The main characters showed why the English were the best when doing drama and romance.
