It's great to see Humphrey again
25 March 2023
I have really been enjoying the episodes in this series. The location is beautiful, and the scenery shots are well done. My son really likes the duck character!

This episode has a lot of intriguing clues and depth. The quirky characters are what we have come to expect from this franchise. The only drawback is the lack of chemistry between Humphrey and Martha. We are told that they love each other, but it's not quite believable. Most of the compromise seems to come from his end, and when she does compromise, such as with the boat purchase, it seems grudging and forced. I don't know if we are supposed to believe in this relationship, or if we are supposed to assume it's inevitably doomed. To me it seems obvious that they both would be better off calling it quits and finding other people.

Top Chef: Jazz Hands (2013)

Music, Fun, And Food!
26 January 2019
This is one of the better episodes of Top Chef I have seen and certainly one of the most interesting of this season. The Quickfire Challenge involves a form of musical chairs where four different chefs contribute to a dish in succession and chefs are randomly left with whatever the last chef started. While this ends up being slightly unfair as other chefs are finishing plating a dish that is essentially someone else's, everyone is in the same boat with luck being a factor. It was weird that Kermit Ruffins was facing the chefs when he started and stopped playing. It seems like he should be facing the other way so he couldn't see the results and placement for it to be truly random.

Nicholas misses the Quickfire due to illness, and there is suspense about whether he will have to forfeit if he misses the elimination challenge. In a fun scene, the chefs visit Vaughan's for a night of music and dancing. Kermit performs on the trumpet there.

The Elimination Challenge takes place at Kermit's Treme Speakeasy in New Orleans with a potluck theme. The chefs are split into three groups. It's a festive atmosphere, with Padma, Gail, and Tom eating and drinking with a bunch of New Orleans' musicians. The judges solicit a lot of opinions from the other diners. Stellar episode overall with a wide variety of dishes cooked and quirky character moments.

Crime Watch Daily (2015–2024)

Unique Crime Show That Serves the Citizens
31 December 2015
This crime show stands out from the rest in that it takes risks and goes places others are unwilling to go. They are not afraid to put cameras and microphones in the face of suspects and criminals, Crime Watch Daily gives a voice to the victims and their families. They also give an interesting insight into the vagaries of daily life in America. Unlike some crime shows that expect the story to be wrapped up in a neat package, Crime Watch Daily is part of ongoing investigations and includes tip lines when relevant for citizen tips. It is like a nationwide citizens watch group, complete with highly professional editing and camera work. This high-quality show is definitely worth watching.
