Time (2016)
Poignant and Lovely
A heart-warming film. The grief of the onlookers is entirely believable and the denouement though easy to anticipate is lovely and not overplayed. My first reaction was that the use of the soft focus was a little excessive but as the film progressed I revised this. Getting the effect of the protagonist passing the runner in the park was really well done.
The Rage (2017)
8 minutes of pace and drama
This is the first film directed by Joshua Cleave I have watched and I was impressed with it's form and quality. The pace is fast; the atmosphere it creates nail biting. The POV shots were ambitious and generally worked very well, I could really feel it was me traversing the corridors and stairs! I felt the addition of the CGI was unobtrusive and added to the quality of the piece. Reading the accompanying notes I marvel at the effort and commitment shown by the director and all the other participants in getting this piece to the screen. A fabulous effort leading to an entertaining outcome. I look forward to seeing more from this director.
