Parasyte: The Grey (2024– )
10/10
Over 9000!
8 April 2024
I just finished watching Parasyte: The Grey and Holy Smokes I must say that it's the GREATEST Live-Action Spin-Off Adaptation of a Manga that I've ever seen; plus Parasyte has always been my second favorite Manga after Tokyo Ghoul! I pray that Yeon Sang-ho does a Tokyo Ghoul adaptation! And I haven't been this excited watching a show since Kingdom released on Netflix back in 2019! Everything was done with perfection. The casting, tone, cinematography, music, action and anything else that you can imagine! The violence was PEAK and TBH that is one of the main reasons why I loved the Manga was because of how visceral it was, but it payed utter respect to the source material and I couldn't be happier. I sincerely hope that we get a S2!

Bees Assemble!
16 February 2023
I'd give it a 4.5! The best moment was a BioShock Plasmid moment. Tons of potential for the sequel, but this entire film was just filled to the brim with cliché women doing the dumbest crap that only women could be seen doing in a real life situation like this lol and a very predictable plot. Winnie was actually pretty awesome and an absolute tank. Not gonna lie. Massive props on that aspect. The kills were C+ IMO. The cinematography was average; though some shaky cam moments got tedious very quickly. The characters dynamic felt forced. The soundtrack was actually solid. I'd say that it's worth a watch at least once. A tier or two above Jeepers Creepers 3 haha.

Deathstroke is a Stowaway!
15 February 2023
Project Wolf Hunting is the Train to Busan of 2023! A monstrosity of pure Adrenaline & Pleasure. I literally have nothing bad to say about this film. Phenomenal cinematography, acting, violence, soundtrack, pacing & etc. The depiction of violence while outrageous never felt overboard. I hope that we get too see a sequel or possibly a Trilogy one day. I could write a three-page review, but I'll end it here lol. The movie is a combo of Predator, Winter Soldier and a Korean Con Air mashed into one glorious movie experience. It will go down in my personal annals for one of the top if not the best movie experience of 2023 for Horror/Action/Thriller Films.

Stock up on Ammo!
29 October 2022
Solid monster movie by Neil Marshall. So happy to see he is returning to his roots since Dog Soldiers is my favorite werewolf film! I'd give it a 7.5. Story was cliché. The acting was ehh. Solid action scenes, but the gun effects were exaggerated. The creatures and kills/gore was perfection! I did almost shut it off after the first few minutes of how cheesy the "gun effects" were, but happy I stuck with it. Please note that most people don't care that it seems to be a Resident Evil clone. Everything takes inspiration from something else just like RE did in the past. Enjoy it for what it is friends.

Terrifier 2 (2022)
10/10
Whip me please!
9 October 2022
Massive Terrifier fan. Terrifier 2 has cemented itself as my new favorite horror film of all time which hasn't ever changed since the OG A Nightmare on Elm Street. The most cosmic Slasher film of all time. Least until the third and fourth films respectively. Three words to describe it. Visceral, Uncompromising and Nightmarish. Art makes Pennywise look like Barney. Everything is amped to a Trillion! The character development, story, soundtrack, cinematography, movie sets, kills, effects & the insanely innovative mannerisms by David Howard Thornton. Lauren LaVera as Sienna is the most badass and tantalizing Final Girl; alongside the pantheon roles of Sidney Prescott and Laurie Strode! I loved every second of this almost 2.5hr film. I know Damien has enough material for a part three and four, but I pray they don't overdue it in the future as much as I'd love to forever witness the carnage of Art the Clown! Note that I've been waiting for this film since the Indiegogo in 2019!

Smile (V) (2022)

Say Cheese!
2 October 2022
I was very skeptical that Smile would be any good and after having just finished it I can honestly say that I was Impressed. Hints of It Follows and Malignant, but with a fresh take on it. It was nice to see the story take place in NJ which is where I'm from, so that nostalgic feeling was cool. Quite the scares and usually that stuff doesn't phase me, but it was implemented superbly. The cast did a great job for sure. The story was cool and I loved the ending. No spoilers! I feel that it's this generation's Sinister. Either watch it in theaters or rent it and you won't be disappointed. Promise!

Update: I just rewatched Smile after a year and a half and originally I gave it an 8, but I'm switching it to a 10 since it's truly a Masterpiece IMO. I'm super excited for the sequel coming later this year!

A modern-day Gladiator!
22 April 2022
HOLY HELL The Northman lived up to my most anticipated film of 2022! Robert Eggers massacred this movie in the most profound way possible. Alexander Skarsgaard was EPIC! The cinematography was phenomenal & the sound effects were otherworldly! The acting was truly wonderful. The combat scenes were brutal AF! The pacing was perfect. Overall the best film I've seen in 2022 & will stay that way!

Olympic Sprinter!
20 February 2022
The new Netflix Texas Chainsaw Massacre film was Awesome! Idk what ppl are expecting with a slasher film. Clearly 90% of you forgot what they are thx to Insidious and trash. TCM has always been about senseless killing and not Oscar winning story and acting. The film was better than Halloween Kills even while mimicking it. The cinematography was excellent and so was the soundtrack! The story was alright. The acting I'll agree was the worst, but Leatherface and the kills were the best we will probably see in 2022! Watch it for what it's and that's a fun romp into mayhem.

Lycans vs Neeson!
7 January 2022
The best Liam Neeson film in the last decade. Enough said. Savage wolves against man's instinct to survive! The cinematography is gorgeous; albeit dark at times with intended effect. The plot is far-fetched, but what Neeson movie isn't lol?! The violence is terrific. Music and acting are superb. Watch it!

Never Trust Your Comrades!
12 October 2021
I'll keep this short and sweet. Epic miniseries to which I hope there is a Part Two, but it's doubtful. Basically The Thing combined with the society of Equilibrium. Horror down to its roots. My one pet peeve was that the main protagonist was a tad annoying at the beginning. Awesome sound, gore effects and overall edgy vibes.

Frankenstein's Army
7 October 2021
I reviewed the initial reviews and the people saying it's crap clearly don't understand what the VHS films represent IMHO, but anyways. After binging all 3 VHS films again so that I could have a clear judgement of which was the best of the series this is my review. The surrounding story is about a SWAT team that raids a warehouse that turns out to be a part of a sinister cult. The segments were all legit. I can confidently say that 94 is the pinnacle even with that one weak segment. The Subject by Timo Tjahjanto was the most wild ride in the franchise! I hope Shudder continues the anthology after a 7yr hiatus. Enjoy!

Terminator ain't got jack on Gabriel.
11 September 2021
OMFG. James Wan has outdone himself. Easily the best horror/thriller film he's directed and to topple himself is hard to do. I'd dare say this is one of the Top 3 if not the Number 1 horror film of 2021 as we close the year! I will admit that for 3/4 of the movie I was like WTH is going on, but as answers unfolded the story becomes very unique. The acting is solid. The violence is so overwhelming to the point of being comical, but in a superb fashion. The cinematography was excellent with a very familiar vibe to the Silent Hill films at times. The music production is orchestrated beautifully. I have seen many horror films since Covid started that weren't on par with what we saw prior with production value, but this is hopefully the start of some bangers to follow.

Lu-Qiri to the rescue!
5 September 2021
Epic Fantasy show. The Outpost has gotten better and better with each passing season. Season One starts slow, but on Season Four now and it's Amazing. A poor man's Game of Thrones mind you with a fraction of the budget, but all of the heart and humor. I love this show and hope it renews for a fifth season.

Re-Watch District 9...
22 August 2021
I'll make this short. Horror is my life; whether it's movies, shows, games or books. Horror is my niche. A 4 is generous which sucks Bc I loved District 9, Elysium and Chappie. Where to start. The main protagonist was utterly trash and annoying. The cinematography was actually cool with the whole VR portrayal. The action was limited. One minor scare. The biggest thing which could have brought it to a 7 for me was the fact that he didn't include what could have constituted a wicked action scene with a Vatican Spec Op Unit; either a lack of budget or time, but regardless it will hurt reviews given time. A Redbox rental at best.

Mind-Blowing in every aspect. David Fincher is brilliant as ever with the direction he took this after Seven. Michael Douglas stole the damn spotlight! I could write a thesis on how phenomenal this film is, but just watch it like right now if you've never seen it.

Don't Breathe.
28 May 2021
I just finished A Quiet Place 2. A solid sequel. I'd give it an 8.5/9 out of 10. Trying not to judge it based on the less horror and more tension/action, but Cillian Murphy was Amazing as always as an alt lead to John Krasinski. John announced there will be a third film which is freaking awesome!

Gore Galore!
24 April 2021
I'm gonna make this short and sweet. I absolutely loved the movie. Don't listen to these trolls about how the 90's movies were better. I enjoyed those; especially and mainly Bc of Johnny Cage, but this is a legit reboot that has the potential to make huge strides in the next decade since they announced four more movies if this succeeds. The action was badass. The acting was alright; though Joe Taslim was the highlight without a doubt as Sub-Zero. The story was meh, but I don't watch MK films for No Country for Old Men story lines lol. Solid length for all it showed. You don't wanna miss this movie. The final screenshot has me hyped for the potential sequel.

Mechagodzilla wears the true Crown.
3 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Mechagodzilla was the best part of Godzilla Vs. Kong IMO. Lackluster with almost no heart unlike the previous films. One solid action scene which was dope, but overall meh.

A reboot you don't wanna miss!
31 January 2021
The reboot of Wrong Turn was freaking Incredible; normally reboots are trash, but this is definitely an exception. After 6 movies it became cliché, but bravo to the cast and crew on a fresh reboot. Highly recommend watching this film. I hope they make a sequel. I'd dare say it's the best in the series, but being unbiased I'd say second best to Wrong Turn 2.

2021 Commentary from 2009!
28 December 2020
I remember watching this film yrs ago and loving it Bc you could slowly back in 2009 see the nuances of truth in it. Fast forward to 2021 in a few days and it's plastered everywhere with how sickening our Government treats its citizens in America and how people trust the Government and etc. Highly recommended watching it if violence doesn't bother you. Massive underlying themes.

I'll make this quick. I rented this film and watched it with my buddy. Fun little Syfy film, but come the last 5 min you will ask yourself wtf happened?! Did they change writers last minute. Worth a Redbox rental.

Two bros and tons of gore!
2 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Let's just get it out of the way now. The movie is cliché in every way possible, so what! The story takes place in a camp in the woods of Poland while trying to rehabilitate technology addicted teens. Simple premise. The acting is good IMO. The standout being Julia Wieniawa as Zosia. A few others on top of being cliché were just downright annoying, but not enough to deter my score. The music cues were a nice touch. The cinematography was splendid tbh. Great shots and angles. The violence was wonderful with awesome kills and genuinely creepy, but dope monster/creature designs that I haven't seen in a few years. I definitely recommend giving it a try and watch it in its nature language; don't go right to English if you're fine with reading subtitles. The immersion is far better, but that's me! Solid addition to Netflix.
