Extreme Ghostbusters: Code Ecto-1 (2002)
Coulda been better but not bad
I'd have to say I'm a total nut for GhostBusters. Sure EGB was okay, didn't have a lot of the old villains from TRGB but eh it was a very good sequel. That being said this game isn't too bad, back when it first came out it was pretty rare to find a copy of it at EB or GameStop, but now not so much if you look hard enough you can get it for a decent price.
The game revolves around Edward and Kylie fighting an Evil Count who has kidnapped the rest of the EGB team. Each mission starts with Janine and Egon and sometimes Slimer giving you the briefing and then you leaving the FireHouse in Ecto-1A. Yes You actually get to Drive Ecto-1A in a top down racing mini game. The only catch is that you have to avoid crashing into obstacles which will slow you down and grabbing the stop watches for extra time. Once you reach the area you have control between Edward and Kylie which you can swap back and forth anytime with no pause. After you reach the End again you are given advice, tips and hints by Egon, Janine and Slimer.
Each Mission is laid out very well as sort of a side scrolling/platforming shooter. Edward and Kylie both use their own proton packs. Edward walks slow, but has the destructive proton pack( it takes fewer hits to take down enemies) Kylie runs, double jumps and has a weaker beam. Edward uses bombs to clear ghosts in a pinch and Kylie uses the modified ghost traps to capture all ghosts currently on screen. The only bad thing is like most of the GhostBusters games you don't use a trap as the GhostBusters would and you don't use a PKE meter.
Each Mission contains 1 Ecto-1A mini game and 4 levels which end with you fighting the boss of that mission. The game may take you a while to get used to but it's not terribly hard. There are a lot of secrets and things to do and find and discover in each level but nothing that unlocks anything as there is nothing to unlock. You collect more bombs/traps, upgrades, lives or health upgrades.
The levels are very large, and might take you a while. There's no save but a password which is kinda irritating but eh. The sounds are very well done and there's a different one for everything from Edward's proton beam to a ghost being destroyed. Everything is very well detailed from the pealing paint on the wall to the detail on the characters and the ghosts. I would say to either download the ROM try it out then go get yourself a real copy of it you won't be disappointed.
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (2002)
Again Cartoon Network Lies
For Everyone out there that forgot they hyped this show up at least a year before it's PILOT ever aired. It lasted about a year maybe 2. A Horrible GBA game came out and it disappeared.I've Always Been a Huge fan of He-Man and this show never disappointed It was good although it was kinda strange how in the 80's he was He-Man, and in this one he TRANSFORMS into He-Man I knew BattleCat but I also Knew Prince Adam Did not, He just hid that he was in fact He-Man, anyways Great Animation They even created new stuff in the show:Battle Armor a new shield some other stuff. The voices were great.Animation very top-notch no details spared. I always Kept thinking teela would sooner or later catch on that Prince Adam ran away and there comes He-Man. There was much character turmoil, conflict and change. Adam always struggled with his alter-ego what Hero didn't? But then again Cartoon Network as soon as it became a hit torched it they moved it to 6am and then yanked it for what? That crappy transformers remake? They wouldn't know what to do with a real hit, that's why DragonBall is pushed under everything else and that's the show that actually made em popular but whatever they're better after 11 p.m If this ever comes to DVD rent it watch it you'll love it all over again
The Batman (2004)
The Batman returns
Most of this show looks as if done by the same people that did and do Extreme GhostBusters,Jackie Chan Adventures, and a few other cartoons. The shows are short and offer nothing beyond the 25 minutes shown. I haven't seen any to be continued nor I have I yet to see Commissioner Gordon. All I see is 2 cops I've never heard of in any of the comics. No bullock nothing. A lot of the voices that i was fond of in the previous Batman cartoon...Mark Hamil as The only person to be able to play Joker besides Jack Nicholson.Kevin Conroy the only person I believe to play the Batman besides Michael Keaton,Efram Zimbalist all gone all replaced by people who never portray the Dangerous darkness or loyalty of the Batman,Joker and Alfred and instead just leave me hoping for more. There are some good things different vehicles, designs and suits are the only thing that make me actually want to watch more. Oh that and Freddy plays The riddler which I haven't seen yet. A lot of it just seems like a rip-off of Iron-Man but don't take my word for it. And seriously Megas XLR? That show is a riot to watch if it only kept some kind of conformity.
