3 Blind Saints (2011)
Harmless, cheerful and uplifting movie that anyone can watch and enjoy.
Three convicts try to get out of jail by saying that they've realised the error in their ways and have been 'saved'. They are released to the custody of a local business man who has them working as ministers in the local church. Frankie works with the kids, Jamal has the job of trying to fix up the truly awful church choir, and Sam is the preacher. Needless to say, none of them are too keen on this job, but working in the church helps them to truly realise the error of their ways, especially when they uncover a plot to destroy the church using money stolen from the church's collection fund. A great and harmless movie that everyone can watch. It's not specific to kids or adults, which is something that's becoming increasingly hard to find these days.
Perfect Sense (2011)
Really didn't like it
It just went on and on for an hour and a half, but it felt like an awful lot longer. If you like lots of melodrama, then you'll probably enjoy it, but I honestly couldn't stand it. It's one of those films that critics rave about, but a lot of other people are left scratching their heads.
Basically, there's this illness thing (main reason I didn't like it; they weren't to keen on explaining anything like that) that comes along and starts to deprive people of their senses, starting with smell. A chef working in a high end restaurant ends up (very slowly) falling for a scientist researching the cause of the sudden onslaught of sensory loss.
It's an idea that could, and should be good, but it just doesn't do it for me. There are too many pieces unexplained, and I feel as though I wasted 90 minutes of my life waiting for them to explain what was causing all of this, and I found the ending unsatisfactory. There were just too many problems with it that made it a bit unrealistic in my opinion.
