Quando c'era Berlinguer (2014)
The political significance of Enrico Berlinguer
This biography recounts the political significance of Enrico Berlinguer through old footage of his rallies and witnesses of public and political figures.
Through various passages, his first battle, the Years of Lead and his final, strenuous and stoic rally in Padua, the director Veltroni portrays Berlinguer's passion and struggling for his ideas and values of a fine intellectual.
The various interviews have the dual purpose to giving a context and to delineating his person, although only one of his four sons has been interviewed.
My opinion on this title is positive, the narrative mechanisms are well oiled, although it leaves an impression of a nostalgic good old days operation, where our present is juxtaposed with a gloriously idealized past.
Nevertheless, the emotion reached on the climax is spontaneous and authentic.
