One of the Worst
24 April 2024
Gumball and Darwin are introducing a homeschool kid to their public school. Throughout the episode they can't understand what he is saying. Later on it's revealed the parents are anti-government lunatics. At the end they say the reason the kid's dialogue makes no sense is because he's stupid (from homeschooling).

This episode encourages the bullying of homeschooled children based on real stereotypes, that they're somehow "stupid" or their parents are crazy in some way because they didn't go to public school. World of Gumball has always been crazy and kind of edgy, but never malicious. It's disappointing that Cartoon Network approved this.

I wanted to like it
28 October 2022
The best parts of the movie are the art-style, animation, and Wendell & Wild themselves. They are easily the most interesting and entertaining characters (and Manberg). Kat on the other hand, is the most negative and spiteful main character I've seen. While I understand the trauma she went through, she never shows an ounce of sympathy to anyone except her parents. There's nothing likable about her.

The plot is alright. Some interesting twists and payoffs, but the commentary about private prisons is as subtle as environmentalism from 90s movies (in other words, in your face).

As a fan of stop-motion, I was hoping to like this. Although it's rated PG-13, I'm not sure who this was made for. The humor and art style seems directed at kids, but then there's really dark scenes and heavily political topics.

Bad for fans, okay for others
25 May 2022
If you're a Rescue Rangers fan, you're not going to enjoy this movie. Any other IP could replace the main characters and you would have the same story. This isn't a sequel or a reboot, more like its own world like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Speaking of better movies, the main cast isn't 2D but toon-shaded 3D models. Roger Rabbit was still made on animation cells and Disney still couldn't be bother to animate the main characters. And don't get me started on Zipper marrying Gadget, anyone would find that bizarre and unsettling.

There are a few funny jokes, but it's not enough to carry the movie. For me, a sequel or reboot like 2017 Ducktales would have been much better.

Highly Underrated
13 April 2021
I remember hearing about the dangers of teflon in the 2010's. What nobody told me was Dupont was behind it. This movie if both informative and entertaining. I wish this movie had more publicity because this situation went under the radar of many.

Animaniacs (2020–2023)

Good, but not Great
24 November 2020
When you don't include the original creators in a reboot, you're bound to trip. While the animation is good and very entertaining, the writing is its biggest weakness. The show drags out the "hey, we're a reboot!" gag throughout the entire season. It's fine for the first two episodes, but beyond that is stale. I was also disappointed by the lack of time travel. Rather than visiting different events and cultures in history, we're stuck in current year. Lastly, there's way more partisan political jokes. The original made fun of everyone and was only a small portion of the humor. Bill Clinton only showed up a couple times in the original, while Trump shows up at least three times in the first season alone. The Animaniacs are basically anarchists, but the episode "Bun Control" was a very blunt message telling the audience what to believe. That's a good way to alienate half your audience.

In conclusion, for a reboot it's all right. Warner Bros. leaving out Tom Reugger was a mistake. Tom's on the record saying his agent contacted them when he heard about the reboot and Warner said they didn't want him. Big mistake.

Another Aardman Classic
20 February 2020
I have loved Aardman ever since I was a kid, growing up with Wallace and Gromit. Shawn the Sheep retains the same British charm the studio's known for. This movie is also rife with sci-fi references.

My only complaint is in the beginning of the movie they play a song with the word d*mn in it. That's not appropriate for a G-rated film.

Bad Across the Board
3 February 2020
I'm tired of shows talking down to children. None of the jokes were funny. Also, why use the character designs of an 80s show when the original audience isn't the target? It doesn't make sense. This show can't even stand on its own merits. If you want to reboot a show correctly look at the new Ducktales. I would have much prefered a second season of the 2011 Thundercats or a reboot by a more competent team of writers and artists.

Out of Character and Rushed Mess
9 January 2019
I have never seen a show end this poorly. The pacing is all over the place, character interactions are either forced or non-existant, and there's numerous animation errors throughout the season. Whoever is responsible did a horrible job. How does such a good show end so poorly?! I don't think World Event Productions will ever let them touch their IP again.
