SpongeBob SquarePants: Bubble Bass's Tab/Kooky Cooks (2021)
They seriously showed THIS to kids?!
Kooky Cooks.
What a weird episode to "digest" on.
No pun intended. But...seriously, they turned Mrs. Puff from a caring boating school teacher to a homicidal maniac by wanting to EAT Spongebob.
She's gone further insane than in Demolition Doofus.
I understand that they didn't show Mr. Krabs getting eaten by an actual human in the wishing well episode and Plankton inside a Krabby Patty being eaten in the Banned in Bikini Bottom episode, but holy crap on a stick. This took a dark turn than what was unexpected. This episode tried to display VORE in a Spongebob episode.
The thing that's been noticeable is that Spongebob's viewers have been decreasing with each season. The first episode of season 12 had 1.4 million viewers, and the end of season 12 had 0.66 million viewers. This episode had 0.48 million viewers.
Like...what is going on here? This just shows how fallen a show like Spongebob has become.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Squiditis/Demolition Doofus (2012)
Is this a kids show or something off of an Investigation Discovery episode?
Okay...somehow, my "post" on here didn't make it because of something I said that might have made it 'not deemable' on here. But...let's get straight to the point. Is this an episode from an Investigation Discovery show or a "Spongebob" episode?
Because...the way they framed Demolition Doofus was just flat-out BAD.
Not just the standard "I don't like it for (Insert reason here)", this is one that was COMPLETELY out of character for Mrs. Puff (Spongebob's boating teacher) to do to one of her "students"...which was to send Spongebob to a "monster truck"-style event just so that she can, in layman's terms, want Spongebob out of the picture.
((Can't say the K-word because I'm worried this review might get demonetized.))
So...what's the biggest problem with this episode? Well...here's one. Mrs. Puff says "Why are you still ALIVE?!" in a Spongebob episode...that is meant for kids.
I'm not trying to find this as obvious, but...seriously, is anyone not even taken aback by the fact that Mrs. Puff seriously is wanting to (insert K-word here) Spongebob in this episode?
And the fact that this Mrs. Puff-related episode somehow doesn't end in her going to prison. It's surprising they actually got away with this.
Seriously...this episode is so hard to put in a sentence, and the way the characters' personalities were placed was just flat-out TERRIBLE.
I'm sure there's worse episodes than this, but this for sure is amongst the bunch of the worst episodes from season 8 and many others.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Are You Happy Now?/Planet of the Jellyfish (2012)
Spongebob episode completely turned DARK...and they allowed IT to be shown to kids?!
"Are You Happy Now?"
That's a great question to ask...if it didn't involve Squidward in a really depressed state.
The biggest problem with this episode is...how is it supposed to be funny?
I understand Squidward gets the most hate as an unlikeable character in most of the episodes of Spongebob, but this is one of those episodes that we should be FEELING BAD for Squidward.
I understand "One Coarse Meal" got a tad bit morbid, but "Are You Happy Now?" was just DARK all around...and one that turned from TY-Y7 to TV-MA in just 5 seconds. THAT is amazing.
So...you may be wondering...how is this episode dark?
Well...actually. Two things...actually, no. Three things...and it's amazing that the viewers could have not noticed those things on why it got dark.
1) Squidward shows the same Spongebob look that near the end on Stuck in the Wringer, and the things he said that is just so far out of context to be put on a kids show.
The problem is...this isn't just some standard depression that Squidward is facing where it's manageable and especially one that can be helped with some outside help. This is one that has Squidward "driving off the deep end", and one that completely gets him into CLINICAL DEPRESSION.
He says "Wake me up when I'm dead" and "I'll never be happy" in the same episode!!! How is THIS funny?! A kids show like Spongebob shouldn't have the viewers listening to Squidward saying things like that! Think of what a child could learn from something like this!
2) Squidward sticking his head in the oven...only to pull out brownies.
Again, not funny, and especially something that shouldn't be showcased on a kids show. It's just emphasizing that Squidward's admitting defeat and it's just asking for someone to cook/boil him alive while his head is inside there.
3) Hanging a rope...for a caged bird (Bivalve).
This kind of joke is so bad, Nickelodeon should be ASHAMED for proudly showing it to the viewers, front and center. This kind of imagery is not something a child should see, especially if they get any "ideas" from it.
I understand Spongebob was trying to do anything in his right to try and cheer up Squidward, but unfortunately, this episode botched it up by not having Spongebob treat Squidward's "depression" with SERIOUS respect.
This is probably one of the WORST episodes from season 8 of Spongebob that shouldn't have happened...and I hope Nickelodeon seriously takes this episode into consideration because...this wasn't meant for kids. This looked more like it was made for adults!
SpongeBob SquarePants: Yours, Mine and Mine/Kracked Krabs (2010)
Terrible start in a two episode segment.
Yours, Mine, and Mine is such a terrible way to begin a half-hour, two episode segment.
Let's begin, shall we? Here's the plot:
SpongeBob buys a meal for himself and Patrick to share, and gets a special toy called "Patty Pal" along with it. However, as SpongeBob soon finds out, Patrick's idea of sharing is that SpongeBob buys something for the two of them, and Patrick keeps that something all for himself.
Okay...sounds logical, but...there's one BIG issue with this.
Let's see if you guys can spot it.
Spongebob gets a Krabby Patty kids meal, Patrick steals Spongebob's wallet...in front of Squidward...in a restaurant...with some patrons in it.
See anything yet wrong with this?
See...it's one thing where Patrick's stupidity will get him into trouble, and then it's another when Patrick acts like an ******* for no reason other than his own, making him the most intolerable and unlikeable character in the series.
He doesn't keep his word on letting Spongebob share the toy after he promised to let him play with it "tomorrow". Instead, it ends up with a fight all the way to the Krusty Krab.
And, the ending, oh man...terrible way to end. Patrick again, steals Spongebob's wallet. At what point, does he even know the true meaning of "sharing"?
Just...just terrible. At least Kracked Krabs makes up for this terrible sham of a start.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Money Talks/SpongeBob vs. The Patty Gadget/Slimy Dancing (2007)
Not the best way to start a Spongebob segment...but probably okay overall.
Okay. Money Talks.
I will admit...this is one of those episodes that feels like it should be stamped as a "fetish" episode (Especially on the ending part of it).
The episode starts off at the Krusty Krab, a customer wants to sit at a certain table, but two elderly people (Old Man Walker and Mary) are already sitting there. SpongeBob says the customer can sit at the table when they are done, although the guy said he will pay $5 if he gets it immediately. Mr. Krabs agrees with this offer and kicks the old people out. He then says "money talks." He likes the idea and wishes he could talk to money.
Later, at his house, Mr. Krabs forces the money to talk, but it doesn't. Mr. Krabs then shouts he wants to talk to money. The Flying Dutchman appears and says he would grant his wish if he sells his soul. Mr. Krabs takes the offer and the Flying Dutchman throws pixie dust on him.
Okay...pretty interesting plot, but the later parts get morbidly confusing. Mr. Krabs gets his wish, letting the money be able to talk, and then it takes a complete tailspin with what happens next.
The money then suggest that Krabs spends him. The first dollar bill says that he wanted to be spent on a fairy princess outfit. The second one says that he wanted to be spent on corn dogs. And then the third says that he wants to be spent on diapers.
This is so confusing to look at.
So...Krabs does what they do, and somehow, Spongebob and Patrick are involved in this, too?!
There's so many mixed messages on this episode, it feels like it should be blacklisted as a "fetish" episode, especially seeing Mr. Krabs, who is the adult in the series, wearing a diaper...on a kids show.
Overall, not a good start to a Spongebob half-hour segment, but The Patty Gadget and Slimy Dancing did make up for it. All in all, it's okay...but could have probably been better off with a much better starting episode than Money Talks.
SpongeBob SquarePants: License to Milkshake/Squid Baby (2012)
This is just...downright bad.
Squid Baby.
What in the world were the creators thinking when they made this?!
The episode starts off with Spongebob and Patrick playing with baby toys.
This is a problem.
So...if Spongebob is "working" at the Krusty Krab, that should technically mean that he's either a teen or an adult in this. Same with Patrick...and instead, we're seeing them with a box filled with baby items. Starts off with rattles, plushies, pacifiers...you get the picture. And then...for some reason, both Spongebob and Patrick 'act' like babies. Can this episode get any further downhill than this?!
Actually...it did.
So...Squidward trips up on one of the toys, landing on the jumperoo...only to have his head smacked right onto the mailbox.
Okay...I can feel a bunch of viewers facepalming at this...but Squidward...is still in his somehow adult-like body...and is wearing a diaper. Does this, in similar context remind anyone of Money Talks where Mr. Krabs, Spongebob and Patrick were wearing diapers and princess outfits?
Like...what kind of target audience are they really trying to lure this episode into???
Jeez...and I thought Ted Post's 1973 movie The Baby would have been more disturbing than this. On a cartoon...that is meant for kids...
As Double D from Ed, Edd n Eddy would say. "That's...disturbing."
So...consider Squid Baby a "fetish" episode...and one that should be deleted from the watch list...
License to Milkshake was a cool episode...but pairs with a downright disturbing one. Not the best double episode combination to look at.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful/A Pal for Gary (2010)
Awful. How is Spongebob so clueless in A Pal for Gary?
Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful is a good episode to look at, but A Pal for Gary is the worst compliment episode to pair it with.
I'm not gonna jump on it with full insanity, but...what exactly IS Gary getting blamed for if he's not doing anything "bad".
It's almost the same like The Precious, Wonderful, Adorable, Lovable Duckling from Courage the Cowardly Dog...but...with Spongebob, a snail, and a terrifying fish monster...
Great...
Seriously, Spongebob becomes very unlikeable because...how is he not seeing what Fluffy "is", especially if he's RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM?!
And...more importantly, how is Gary's teeth strong enough to rip Spongebob's pants? I don't think anybody has seen that in an episode of him doing that.
Spongebob doesn't even remotely acknowledge that Fluffy's ABOUT TO EAT GARY WHOLE and still is being blamed for it!
Poor writing, badly constructed, and very unlikeable for all the wrong reasons. I'd give this a negative review if anything. Keep this episode away, and watch Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Face Freeze!/Glove World R.I.P. (2012)
Pure nightmare fuel that would make Freddy Krueger scared.
The biggest pet peeve I have with a Spongebob episode is when they create adult-related themes that just change the complexion of what the show's intended target audience is trying to go for.
And Face Freeze! Definitely is pure nightmare fuel.
Like...how many creepypasta faces were there in this episode?!
And some of those would look like nightmare-looking faces.
Off the bat, does this episode not remind anyone of Hooky in a way?
You mean to tell me the close-ups of their faces is acceptable for a kid to watch?!
Even Freddy Krueger would be (No pun intended. Sorry, Tuesday Knight), "running away from this nightmare".
You'd be seriously giving a kid nightmares on watching this.
SpongeBob SquarePants: To Love a Patty/Breath of Fresh Squidward (2007)
Am I finding this double series distracting by any means?
Breath of Fresh Squidward is a bit of a debbie-downer.
I'm not gonna go into details, especially with how it ended.
Overall, let's just say the ending kind of killed the mood.
To Love a Patty.
I can find this either weird, downright crazy, or just plain strange.
But let's get through the big elephant in the room.
The part where the Krabby Patty was being swarmed by baby clams. Right?
Remember the episode Rock-A-Bye-Bivalve? Yeah...the one where Spongebob and Patrick had to take care of A BABY CLAM!?
Spongebob in this episode kills a BUNCH of baby clams, not just one, A LOT...and yet, doesn't really acknowledge in remembering that he had took care of one and let it go at the end of the episode. What if the one Spongebob killed was Junior amongst them?
Apparently, bivalve "child" murder is okay to be featured on this show.
It's amazing that the creators of Spongebob somehow get away with this...and not remotely look at what kind of consequences this would bring.
SpongeBob SquarePants: House Sittin' for Sandy/Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom (2011)
Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom = HATE
While I can admit that Spongebob episodes are usually good when a plot is well-constructed and sticks to it, this one is COMPLETELY the opposite of that.
This episode was supposed to focus primarily more on Spongebob and Squidward, which...the whole episode was focusing on for most of the way. Everything was going so well...up until they threw in Patrick FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER!
The way they put him was completely unneccessary.
I don't know if the creators just threw him into the episode just to say "Let's add him because...why not?" just because Spongebob was in it.
Poorly timed, and especially, one that deserves Patrick as an "unlikeable" character.
SpongeBob SquarePants: Growth Spout/Stuck in the Wringer (2009)
Dude...what were they thinking???
You know, when a Spongebob episode is perfectly well-constructed, and with a straightened up plot, then that tells you it's good.
However, when an episode is constructed well, but poorly scripted, as this one went, then it's bad.
This one...falls under bad, especially Stuck in the Wringer. I can't believe that they actually allowed THAT side of Spongebob to be aired. This is meant for kids?!
Holy Toledo...what were thinking when they made this!?
Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (2017)
It's cool, but is flawed in a few ways.
For the record, I have read the Captain Underpants books. There are some parts of this which was cool, and which parts weren't. For one, Kevin Hart, if you haven't seen any movie trailers, were epic scenes, like Ride Along and Get Hard, you're missing out on this. I was curious about the choice of K-Hart, knowing most of his movies weren't animated. The movie now...it covered 3 books, and I was hoping it'd cover the whole first 5 of them. Where is The Wedgie Woman and the alien cafeteria ladies? Plus too, there's several parts pertaining to this movie that you don't see in the books. Much like the Harry Potter movies, this one follows the same way, where they don't follow as much like the books. I can understand people hating this as a bad movie. Trust me, there's other worse movies than this, like The Human Centipede, Psycho remake, Hansel and Gretel, and The Fog. Aside from that, this seemed funny like the trailers showed. Now then...what went wrong in the movie was the worse thing imaginable, where Melvin and Poopypants worked together. That NEVER happened in the books. What kind of plot is it where you steal laughter and make them dull? Does this not remind you of the cutie mark stealing episode of MLP: FiM? But...you know...like some Marvel movies, there's a twist ending, which surprised me. I think it's cool...definitely watch at your own risk.
