This is suspenseful with fabulous atmosphere.

Bertie Carvel is absolutely masterful as Adam Dalgliesh. We subscribe to Acorn TV and Britbox to see high quality shows like this. American shows rely heavily on violence instead of solid storytelling and suspense, it's predictable and tiring. This is a murder mystery so there is violence, but it also has fully developed characters that are really believable. It takes place in the 70's with great cars and clothes. Oh and the refreshing absence of tech! Every story is in two parts so be sure to plan for an hour and a half, I have to see both parts in one watch!

I am completely perplexed by the positive reviews for this thing. It's not a documentary about the dangers of social media, of which there are many, it is an extremely poorly made silly insult to technology consumers. It addresses the viewer as if we are all ignorant simpletons. Netflix what were you thinking?? Did you screen this before it was released? The message is completely lost because of the stupid poorly acted dramatic sequences. Just wow, the worst production of anything I have seen in a long time.

I started watching this on Britbox during Covid lockdown. My husband and I became obsessed!! The mysteries are very entertaining, some more than others. The reason we couldn't stop watching is the brilliant, mesmerizing talent of David Suchet. His portrayal is charming and quirky, incredibly nuanced. This is a great series! David Suchet your attention to every detail is genius!! This is a series we will watch and rewatch.

I remember the news stories about Betty Broderick. This series is so entertaining, great performances by Amanda Peet and Christian Slater. I look forward to the new episode every week, they just keep getting better. In this time of staying home this has been a highlight, and like most people I'm watching a lot of TV right now!!

There is not one character in this series to care about or root for. The acting is good and I enjoy characters with conflict and believable flaws, in this case however all the main characters are liars and cheats with no sympathetic characteristics. After a couple episodes you just don't care. A real waste of talented performers.

First few episodes are slow. I left the show and moved on. Decided after a couple of months to give it another try, the last few episodes are good. It really needed to be tightened up but if you are home because of the coronavirus give it a chance.
