Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
Stop with the hate
People often consider this film the red headed step child of the Halloween Series, when it's not the worst but by far the most creative one of the serious, of course no disrespect to Halloweens 4 through H20.
This film is a great film and the main reason people see it is as bad as because they go and see the film and get annoyed because Michael Myers doesn't make a proper appearance (if you're wondering he makes a cameo on a TV in a bar, and his Halloween II actor Dick Warlock has a prominent role in the film), and it's because of this that the film is poorly graded.
The series at this point was trying to become an anthology series, and this was a good start I mean trying to distance from a man in a white William Shatner mask trying to kill people, I think an Irish warlock trying to kill kids with Halloween Masks is quite a difference.
Tom Atkins delivers a great performance in this film, his character isn't the typical pretty boy, he plays an alcoholic, divorced farther and he has a great arc in which his character goes from a failure as the aforementioned, to having the duty of saving a vast amount of people from Dying.
Stacy Nelkin is one of the weaker parts of the story but non the less plays a pivotal role in the story and is in fact the driving force for the most part, at first she appears to not be the Laurie strode stereo-type of gets hunted and is a goody two shoes, she is anything but, in the later part of the film one of the main problems is the fact her character is replaced with a robot duplicate, but we are left puzzled if she was one the entire film or not.
Dan O'Herlihy is a true menacing villain and delivers a powerful performance and even though i've seen him in Robocop i prefer him in this as he plays a man who appears to be of a friendly nature but turns out to be a truly evil man, and I believe that this is subliminal messaging that be careful during the Halloween Period.
The music by John carpenter is Class A Carpenter the soundtrack is top form and I find myself listening to it over and over again, however the Silver shamrock theme will get stuck in your head and the fact it's played several times throughout the film doesn't help, but the main soundtrack is something that could rival the iconic Halloween Theme.
I truly believe this film to be a master piece of 80's horror and is a nice change from what you'd expect to see from this time, I'd recommend giving this film a watch.
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
On first glance Jason vs rip off Carrie, but it's not
This film is the best of the Friday the 13th series and here's why.
The Main character Tina isn't a Laurie Strode re-harsh, in fact you'd think she was a rip off Carrie, but after watching the film you'll find out that she is in fact one of the most developed Characters and the fact that this is seven films in shows that as time goes on the Characters don't get worse.
Kane Hodder makes his Debut and Jason, and my god he delivers a menacing performance, Jason is torn apart and decayed and like the performance looks very menacing and frightening, the Kills preformed in this film are top notch including the sleeping bag kill.
Another thing that differs from other slasher series is the fact that their is more than one survivor, the other character Nick is played differently he is obviously smitten with the main, but has a great back story and takes matters into his own hands during the climax of the story.
the supporting cast differ heavily from the usual stereo-types of victims, including an abusive boy friend which i haven't seen in any other Slasher film, and I have to say I loved the Charicter Eddie being he is crazy but is a writer, and my god I love him.
the only weak part is the single jump scare which is when a cat is in a closet, but aside from that this film is slasher gold.
Space Jam (1996)
Feel good film
This film is one I truly enjoy watching over and over again, that is something I rarely say about a film.
I first watched this film when I was 6 after realising that the sequel was in fact a sequel, I enjoyed the acting of Basketball players, usually when someone plays themselves in a movie, in a main role, they do a poor job, but the acting in this film felt genuine.
This film despite being a comedy still has an inspirational feel, this is most evident when Michael Jordan is training in one of the most serious moments in Looney toon's history.
This film is one of the greatest I've ever seen, and deserves more reconnection for the many aspects and it's great blend of comedy and drama.
Galactik Football (2006)
Galactik football
imagine a young boy about 6 in primary school year 2 the world cup is on and then there's this new show on jetix called Galactik football when i first watched it not a big fan then i watched an episode with a match and caught the other side of the show and then i noticed there were two sides to the story.
when the first series ended i was left wondering on a cliff hanger blaylock survived then series 2 and they introduced the new characters i still loved it then it gave more special effects and what made me love it was the fact they gave the finale with a cliffhanger that no one saw Blaylock was dead both flux devices with him then Harris had one.
it felt like forever until season 3 but the wait remained almost un- worth it the villain was Harris and he was basically the joker with his outfit and voices changed making me hate Micro ice and i never hated anyone and clamps i never noticed changed however they kept us more on the edge of our seat as we always expected a win from the snow kids but the new tournament allowed for us to feel like they could lose.
withe the final match of season 3 they redeemed themselves with sinedd returning to the snow kids but then they took a great big dump on us by giving us a cliffhanger and also saying that the team had disbanded and now teaches a club.
overall though this was apart of my childhood so i give it 9/10
Back to the Future (1985)
Back to the future good film but doesn't make sense
As much as I like back to the future and the trilogy the films don't make sense as many things are time paradox's although not as present in this film as the 2nd it does have many mistakes which make you think "great Scott" how does that work.
The storyline is good as it has made several parodies and we even get a second glance in the second film the casting works well although going back in time is something new plus martyrs reaction to the 1950s is like going to new country they do things differently their
The film where the storyline makes sense is interesting where Katy is forced into last resorts to get his parents together but in the end he has destroyed his life as he no longer knows what as happens in his life it is different now
All in all the movies good but it like I said has several plot holes which need filling.
Death Race 2 (2010)
Death race 2 was it worth it
Death race 2 is that of a prequel to the original whilst using 2 old characters to create continuity and a picture to use more continuity. Above all though the film wasn't that good their are several shots that seem out of place due to the reused first film shots and although it's meant to show us the origins of the death race it leaves us more questions than we had like why is the track different why do the cars look like the updated versions from the 6 moth gap from the first film. One of the best things in the film was when Marcus Kane was watching Death race 2000 on TV but even that is just leaving a plot hole. The acting is good the car scenes are brilliant and the deaths of the racers aren't reused and it shows unitive mostly with sheiks death. Overall the film is okay but has the a bigger budget it would have been a master piece.
