Death Proof (2007)
1/10
In one word: Junk

This movie is so bad, I felt the need for a fast acting anti- depressant when I saw the words "The end". It's like someone stole 2 hours of my life, and laughed at my face in the end. It is so bad, I can't even make a structured critic of it. The first hour of the movie consists of shallow and ridiculous dialogue between four girls that is awfully painful to watch. Then some shot lived action, then more endless pain in the form of a movie until the end. Normally, when someone warns me about a movie, I still want to watch it so I can have my own informed opinion. In this case, I wish I could go back in time and just take the word from all the bad reviews made so far. Like one reviewer here said, avoid it at all costs. And please don't tell me I didn't get the movie. Just because a movie is non-sense, boring and pointless doesn't mean it is a work of art. Some times it just means that it's....garbage. Nothing else.

Horrible

I expected to watch a movie that depicted, apart from the Romantic and Tragic story of the Maias family, the social life, the city of Lisbon, the houses, streets... you get the point. I have read the book, so I knew what I should expect in those aspects. Boy was I wrong. I don't even think I watched a movie to begin with. I would characterize this more like a theater play. The streets, landscapes and window views were all (I mean ALL) made of what looked like cardboard paintings. It is obvious that the movie had a very, very low budget. On the upside, It had some quality comedy mixed with the drama that goes with the story, however, that doesn't make the movie less painful to watch.

Being a Liam Neeson fan, I had high hopes for the movie. Boy was I disappointed. I couldn't even appreciate the art work of the movie because it was constantly striking me of totally and utterly ridiculousness. I don't't know a thing about wolves, nor am I an expert in biology but I think it's common sense that wolves don't act remotely close to what we see in the movie. I mean, I can forget about how real life is when I watch a movie but, being this a "survival" movie, I think it wouldn't hurt to be somewhat more based in real life, for educational purposes for instance. It it (in every sense) not the case. Other then that, the movie is filled with plot holes that are to ridiculous to appreciate anything else, like leaving the plane crash where you have the best chance to survive because you think trees provide better defense, outrunning wolves in snow that covers half your legs, completely and utterly ridiculous Wolfe behavior and the back story of Liam's character, with the wife and the father, was bad...to say the least. I give it 5 stars just because, for me, Liam Neeson always performs better then average on screen, otherwise it would be a solid 3 stars.
