Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
What happens when you get a film without a studio's interference
A fantastic return to form for DC. This film is exactly what we should have gotten 4 years ago. It just goes to show that the directors sometimes know better than the studios for what fans want. It is a shame we probably won't get a continuation of this film however this is the definitive Justice League. If you are to watch a version of this film, make it this one.
Doctor Who: Rosa (2018)
Motivational and moving
This episode was without a doubt the best one of this new season so far. Not only is it a tightly packed episode with all the twists and turns it needed it also had humour as well as moments that genuinely make you as the audience think. Do not listen to all the 1 star reviews that are bashing for the sake of bashing. I can understand it might not be the greatest episode for some people but for fans of doctor who, this is doctor who.
Doctor Who: The Ghost Monument (2018)
The Doctor is back!
Second week of our new Doctor and I have to say I am mesmerised. Not only was the episode a step up from last times in terms of quality but everything seems to be shaping very nicely. Really loving this new incarnation of The Doctor and everything she is bringing to the character. A surprising element I'm enjoying is the comedic one liners from Bradley Walsh; easily my favourite character of this season so far. The pacing was pretty good and I liked the mystery that seems to be setting up, most likely this seasons arc. The villains were basic but also came across as terrifying when you realise it's essentially cloth that can attack you. Finally a Tardis that dispenses custard creams, that alone makes it that much more amazing in my eyes. If this season keeps up in quality it could easily be up in my personal preferences with Season 3.
Doctor Who: The Woman Who Fell to Earth (2018)
Fantastic
Going into the episode I was rather skeptical. I wasn't completely won over by the drastic change in doctors or the new writers but I have to say for a first episode it was a rather good one. The writing fit really well with the characters; the companions were enjoyable and the doctor, don't even get me started on the doctor. With a mixture of all the past doctors and all their fun quirks Jodie really knocked her performance out of the park. The only thing I didn't like is I saw the death coming from a mile away, it took away the weight it had on the characters but that was down to the advertisements more than anything. Overall I say it's a solid 9/10. Worth a watch.
Uncharted: Live Action Fan Film (2018)
Great video game movie?
The short film was brilliant. Not only does it capture the spirit of Uncharteds writing it stays loyal to the characters. From Nathan's quips and whitty dialogue to how the characters move and how they look; it was just perfect. I believe if this was picked up by Sony and worked on like the leaked Deadpool footage we could finally have a fantastic video game movie. The only downside is it left me wanting more. A downside that Sony can change.
13 Reasons Why: Bye (2018)
A disgusting but essential end
I feel this episode was perfect in closing Hannah Bakers story whilst shining light onto other issues. I was revolted by the scene in which Tyler gets raped however it's not going to lower my rating. I feel that to send the message across that change needs to happen all the dark gritty realities need to be shown. 13 reasons why can be great social commentary and I feel a continuation would be great showing all the other stories that need to be told.
