Zoo (2015)
Started out strong, then fizzles really quick
I loved the concept of this series. It started out really nicely. But then all the different subplots and side quests ruin this series really quickly to the point that I'm left asking, "what's the goal again?"
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
It's good for what it is: a silly kids movie
SERIOUSLY!!! Why is everyone giving this movie a bad rating. It's literally just a kids movie. It's cheesy. It's silly. They do a lot of homages. The storyline wasn't that bad. Okay maybe Lebron's acting could use a lot work, but hey it wasn't bad for this being his first time on the big screen. Don't listen to these negative comments and check it out for yourselves. Don't expect anything except a little cheesy fun movie.
Mignonnes (2020)
Uncomfortable but realistic
Please don't pay attention to the reviews that blankly paint this movie as bad.
The depictions in this movie does not endorse the sexualization of women and young girls, it criticises it. I wouldn't suggest anyone who is sensitive to shocking scenes to watch this, because it does contain a lot of shocking scenes. THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE MOVIE! It shows how a humble conservative little girl can easily lose her innocence and be transformed by the society and its lewd culture.
As a Christian, and a father of a baby girl, I am certainly more aware of the types of challenges women face today, as well as what my little girl might have to face growing up.
Ga-lyeo-jin si-gan (2016)
Pretty interesting concept for a movie
I can't praise this movie enough, but I will give it a sin. This movie would be over in 5 minutes if only the detective actually listened to his subordinates and ran a DNA test or fingerprint scan to verify that the man really was really Sung-min š¤·š¾. They just wasted a bunch of time and resources hunting him down.
Sidenote: as an actor, it must've been really awkward for Shin Eun-soo and Gang Dong-Won to play the part of forbidden love given their HUGE age difference.
Bird Box (2018)
....what did I just watch?
š¤¦š¾ really, don't waste your time watching this. Nothing makes any sense. The main character doesn't develop. I have no idea who/what the bad guy is supposed to be. And the ending made absolutely no sense. It's almost like the whole movie was meant to be a prequel to something, but as horrible as this setup was, I don't want to sacrifice any of my time to find out what the main story is about. Watch something else
Skyscraper (2018)
It was pretty good
I honestly don't understand why people are rating this movie low. I mean, didn't you see the description of the movie before going to watch it. It's an action film, starring The Rock saving his family from a burning building, and it's exactly what they showed, and I enjoyed it. There were many scenes where I was literally sitting at the edge of my seat. I watched it on Amazon online, so there were a few scenes in Chinese Cantonese that wasn't subtitled (but that wasn't the movies fault, I found a different site). Aside from that, I legit enjoyed the movie. Don't pay any attention to these negative comments. It was genuinely fun to watch.
Oh, Ramona! (2019)
Save your time/money. It's horrible
I didn't think Netflix had anything less substantive than Birdbox, but I guess I was wrong. Look, I'm the kind of guy that can sit through almost any movie, despite its horrible acting or cgi or anything else. As long as the story is somewhat gripping, I'll watch it through the end. But this movie takes the cake. I'll be honest, I just couldn't watch it through to the end. I watched about two-thirds then skipped to the end to see what the movie was about. It was just so horrible. I still don't even know what the movie was about, aside from a boy sleeping around. Man, I wish I didn't waste my time, it was an utter waste.
I normally don't take time to rate/review movies, but I had to do this one in hopes that I can pull the 5/10 rating down, even just a little bit. So nobody else has to make the same mistake I made.
Bright (2017)
Don't ever listen to "professional" critics just watch it for yourself
I just know that I enjoyed watching this Netflix exclusive movie. I seriously can't wait for Bright 2
